Tire question...

Hi

What's the difference between:
35x12.50r20 and 305/55/20
Are those same or which is bigger?

I was driving around and I saw a truck just like mine(but white) and with some tires that looked really fine...
So I stoped and said hi to the owner but he didn't know nothing about his tires(he just bought the truck as it is from another guy the day before)...
Anyhow.., I checked the tires and they are:

35x12.50r20
while mine are 305/55/20

His are Mud terrain and mine All terrain, so that's why I think his look bigger.. but..
because I doin't know the specs meaning of his tires(35x12.50r20) I can't really tell if those are the same size(just different terrain).

Please help

thank you

Giorgio

a 305/55R20 is just a bit over 33 inches overall diameter, 12.5" wide...
a 325/55R20 would be equal to a 35x13R20

Oh I see..

So I supose his truck had a lot of rubbing(on front) as I saw he just had some leveling kit.
Am I right?
Or can I have 35'' tires with a 2.5'' leveling kit with just little rubbing at least?

Thank you

Giorgio

you can have 35's ... you will probably rub but nothing too serious.
i have 35's on the stock 18" rims, and when I turn full-crank Left or Right, my tire rubs the upper control arm, and the lower control arm

Giorgio,

I currently have the 325/60/20 BFG KO's (35x13) on OEM 20's with a 2" leveling kit and rear AAL.
