Raced a Hemi Just Now

I'm putting my stockers (tires) back on tonight to take a trip up to Yosemite...I want to save the tread on these grapplers. We are staying at the luxurious Awhanee hotel in one of 4 cabins with a balcony. Thats my labor day weekend, how will yours be? Mine started great, here's the story.

I was driving to my friends house to wake his **** up and next to me at a stoplight sits a red hemi, on airbags & 20's. Now I'm sitting on 37's and drive like I'm not...this truck moves for 37" tires with the mods I've put in and the morons who say different have no idea. I have said this many times and although it's still not "quick" per se...especially off the line with 3.73's but it holds the same power above 20mph as it did with stockers. I could tell the mexican wanted to play as he jumped the light to see if I was playing as well. Well, I like to play my low end out so I take off easy and then gun it when I hit 20 or so and my exhaust f'ing roars...he definitely knew as soon as I hit it as he let off after he jumped the light thinking he was waisting his time. He planted it as soon as I did and we took off, together as he was about 3/4 throttle when he took off until I punched it (I punched it from about his rear bumper). I gained up to him and stuck right by him and slowly pulled away until I shifted...which is where he slowed down due to a truck in his lane. Good for me as you'll see.

We raced again and I started from a 30mph roll in which I downshift and my exhaust roars when doing this from 30-40mph (41mph is where it refuses to downshift). I stayed with him until about 65 and we were on a lit up and very wide street, in the city. Lights were green and folks were stepping out of their cars to watch us run, what a flippin ROAR our trucks made as the sounds bounced off cars and buildings (I am basically running straight pipes and no catalytic convertors). Well he pulled away when we shifted but very very slowly, and if stock height I would have kept up I'm sure. The reason I feel he pulled away was the disadvantages aerodynamics play at those speeds. When I let off due to traffic I was @ his b-pillar (it was a crewcab as well). Now I provoked this idiot, and when I let off he didn't and drove into the middle turning lane to pass the 40mph law abiding cars I braked for. I know it was wrong and no worries, I'm going to hell without your recommendation so you can save it for the next C. Manson or how about your cute kid who accidentally fixes your eggs wrong. I know some enjoy these stories and I had a jump in spirits tonight following my trucks performance despite running 37's. I will have a chance to feel the difference in acceleration with the stockers tonight, so I'll post when I return from Yosemite. I have a headache from our exhaust bouncing off eachothers trucks with windows down.

But most of all, I hope you enjoy hearing this insane unlawful adolescent sadistic sh*t ahead of time, it's amazing how you squares always have something negative to bring to the table. I'd have ran over the airbag queen next to me over a puppy crossing the road...

It was actually a cool race story up to the point when the alcohol kicked in
jump in spirits tonight following my trucks performance
and you started talking %&*@ after you apologized
I know it was wrong
then it became a story by a funny drunk adolescent

I must admit, two flat tires caused by nails is no way to start a weekend off.

Call me a moron. You have one amazing truck. Big lift, 37" tires, yet it still beats Hemis AND gets twenty something MPG AND you have had an offer of $33K from someone to buy it? I'm not the moron, you are for even thinking about getting rid of such a 'special' truck.

Dude no one is saying its normal either. I don't believe either of the stories, maybe if we had some video it'd be a different story.

But, I don't believe everything I hear, thats just me.

Reminds me of when i used to race souped up VW's in the mid 70's in my 1967 Mustang. They never could take me off the line.

my truck ran a 16.5 in the quarter with my the 38's, i don't know what dodge's run but its not that much faster, i believe he beat the hemi only because half of u people out there don't want to waste ur money on performance mods so u have NO idea on how fast these trucks can be so u only can compare to ur stock 5.4, no wonder u think the hemi beat him ! josiah has the same mods as me but i have 4.56 gears, he is probably running around a 16-16.5 quarter because of his smaller tires than mine. Nice kill josiah u have a bada$$ truck
