Thumbs up leaky rear window

FWIW, I had a lot of water leaking into the rear seat/backrest of my 2004 scab after heavy rains. It soaked down to the seat and was mostly concentrated in the center and spread almost to the edges. It was also visibly driping onto the right side headrest. I took it to a local dealership and they confirmed what I had read in other posts, that it was leaking from the third brake light. The resulting water had left a stain on the back seat and I asked if they could do anything about it (not really expecting they would). Well they really suprised me when they said they were ordering the new upholstery to replace it! The service guy admitted that this year had issues with staining, even from water.
Just thought ya-all would want to know.

Sounds like a good dealer! Who did you take it to here in KC?

I bought it in Belton because my wifes G-pa worked there but its too far to drive. This was my first time dealing with Thoroughbred Ford on Barry Road and I have no complaints. I thought at first they would be less likely to give good service since I bought it elsewhere. Van Chevy on the other-hand is a different story. Bought the wife a Cobalt a year ago and its been a pain ever since. Constant problems with interior trim and other cosmetic issues.

You got a lot better service than I did... I had them change the oil on my truck and told them not to wash it since I seen they would wash your vehicle with an oil change.. Long story short, there was oil all over the front of my truck when I left there.. Plus I seen a guy looking the truck over and then went and got another guy and pointed out the exhaust and something else... I couldn't see what they were doing.. Then when I got back in my truck, I noticed they basically went through the whole inside of my truck! In terms of my center console being gone through, my coinholer was open, glovebox was went through, and I have a small bag with roadside stuff they had pulled out from underneath the backseat to go through.. I don't know if they were looking for cash, change, or what the hell they were doing. I was extremely pissed though!

This relates twice to me - so I have to chime in.

Mine leaked with heavy rain. Third brake light was completely replaced under warrenty.

At the same time doing this, I was having the cruise control fixed under warrenty (just up and quite) and an oil change.

Well, $110 dollars was taken out of my center console. (I know - I shouldn't have left it in there.) I am waiting to hear from them today about it. They should never enven open the center console - ever.
