Average MPG

Hey guys I was just curious what a lot of you were getting with for gas mileage with your F-150, I'm looking at getting a F150 Supercab FX4. My current truck gets an average of about 16 MPG, I need something decently comparable. I actually like the new chevy pickups, but IMO they are junk compared to the F-150's interior. Plus the chevy's has standard 3.42 rear end gears, they feel really doggy to me. Also, I'm curious about the edge chip for this truck, I would definately purchase one right away. What are you opinions on this chip? My dad has the edge in his diesel and it gives a ton of power. I know you won't get the gain of a diesel, but every little bit helps.

I have the 5.4, 4x2 supercrew, 3.55 gears. Three tanks running the Edge with 93 octane and driving to "have fun", 17.3 mpg. I am now trying the 87 octane program with some tweaks. I love the Edge. No, it won't do the boost you get from a diesel, but it is a very big improvement over stock. If all out performance is the quest, you may want to look at the Xcal2 with a Troyer tune. If nice improvement over stock with a neat gauge set up, the Edge is very good. Even with the agressive driving, I am getting about 1 mpg better , using the Edge.

He drives a lifted supercrew truck that weighs around 6,000 lb. That isn't bad at all!

My 2005 FX4 Scab gets 14-15 mixed driving, and 17-19 highway.... I'm also running on a 93 octane Troyer tune. If you are looking for increased power and response you can't beat the Xcal II from Troyer Performance. I got an Air Force One intake and custom tuning done and its great! Throttle response is greatly improved as well as shifting characteristics. www.troyerperformance.com go have a look around the website, check the Tuners forum here and then go have fun!

I've been getting about the same with E85. Been running about 1 mpg higher with straight unleaded.

04 SuperCab 5.4L, Bone Stock, except a Tonneau cover. Need to replace Air filter, Mixed driving mainly City, first tank through it I averaged about 14MPG.

I'll know better after a few more tanks, and after I do more Highway driving. But Assuming around 13-14 City/Mixed and 17-19 Highway.
