My truck, 04 F-150 (see sig) with 3.73 gears and driving with a fairly heavy right foot, running the Edge on lvl2 (87 oct) plus some custom settings gets about 13mpg with mostly "city" driving, and around 17 on the highway. On lvl3 I ave. about 15mpg with mostly "city" driving, and I never took it on any long trips while running lvl3 so I can't tell you what the hwy mileage might be.

5.4 2wd screw 4.1 gearing, 32 inchx12 inch wide street tires, GREEN intake, Xcal2 87 per, and magnaflow catback, I get 12.3mpg all-around. HOWEVER, I do literally 90% city driving...lots of stop and go. AND, since the truck is my second vehicle now...I make sure to get the most fun out of it as possible when I do drive it, so I hammer it just about non-stop, lol.

Dad has a screw 4x4 with a tonneau and no other mods, he gets 14~ city, and he's bumped up to 22 freeway on trips...doing 75~

My '05 F-150 Supercrew 5.4L 4x4 with 3.55 gears normally gets 14.5-15.5 MPG in my normal mixed routine, gets around 13.5 MPG in mostly city driving, and I recently got a best 18.4 MPG on my trip to Arkansas this past weekend driving up and down the mountains doing anywhere from 35-65 MPH depending on the steepness of the slope and the tightness of the curve. I got 17.5 MPG on stretches where I was doing over 70 on the interstate. Oh yeah, I just hit 15k miles.

Depending on how I drive, the trip meter varies from about 16 mpg up to 21.

'04 4x2 Supercab, 5.4 3V, 3.55 gears.

Im getting around 15 for an average. On the highway between 55 and 65 Im reading 22 from the Edge. I have a Reg cab 5.4 with 3.55 gears and Edge on 91 using 93 with timing up 1. I get about 1.5 mpg better with level 3 so it makes it worth the extra gas. I just finished another tank at 314 and 19 gallons so thats around 15-16 mpg average.

I have heard that lower gears give better MPG around town. Any truth to that? I have 3.55 and got a price today on 4.56 gears. I have heard people say 1-2mpg.

I get about 13-14, but can do better if I drive like my Grandma. I am hoping the EDGE will help a little, or at least get me some pretty accurate data.

FWIW, tonight I decided to hit the reset on the "trip MPG" readout on my Lariat right after I got on the freeway. I set my cruise control to 65, on a fairly steep grade that gets the tractor trailers down to 50 or so for the most part.

I went for about 5 or 6 miles like this, and got around 14mpg. Got off, did about 2 miles surface roads and parked it at the GFs house. On my way home it was half downhill (backroads, so coasting a lot) and then the rest was mostly flat. by the time I got home my overall trip average was at 20.5 MPG. I did a little testing, and found with my 4.1 gearing my "best" speed was about 48MPH and that was when I was climbing towards 21 MPG.

My Dad has a tonneau, stock gearing (not sure on the ratio) and stock tires and he gets 20+ freeway. Gears will kill! haha

No performance mods to speak of and I get 15.1 to 15.4 in mostly city driving. Haven't calculated it on a road trip yet.
