Quick Question about 93 Octane w/ Edge

I've been searching, but can't find some of the things that I've read before about making adjustments to my edge when running 93 octane.

I thought I had to mess with the timing or something. If anyone is running the 93 or if someone can find a thread about this subject, please chime in.

Thanks for your time,

jrbhc8

Here's a thread...

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=251626

I run 93, and usually run Level 2 with Timing bumped +3, along with tire and gear ratio corrections, and shift firmness changes. Currently trying out Level 3 so I have +1 on the timing...

93 octane = Level 2 with +3 timing or Level 3 with +1 timing

78staff, let us know what you think after switching to level 3. I'm running 93 on level 2 with +3 timing and default shifts. I like it much, much, much better than level 2 with 87. Just too lazy to try level 3 so far.

I have read that the edge gets 25+ extra hp. My box says 35hp and 50 lb up to of course at 4500feet. Wouldnt lower elevation give better hp unless running like race gas? Ive read many times that +1 degree for every 2+ octane 87,91. Good stuff.

Lower elevation would get better performance. Thats why you see a few dyno graphs that state something to the effect.....corrected for sea level, etc.

I have been running a custom tune with 93 octane ever since I got the Edge. It improved my gas mileage about 1 mpg, even with more aggressive driving. Getting 17.2 to 17.4 running around the metroplex. I filled up with 87 last night and customized a Level 2 just to see if I felt a difference. On the drive to work this morning, if there was a difference in acceleration, it was slight. Sure makes it fun to drive and I really like seeing the all the temps on the display.

I notice a big difference in torque between 87 and 93. Not much in the horsepower...but noticable in torque.
