Talking Another "just got an Edge" thread

So I finally decided to pony up for a tuner. I liked the XCal but decided to try out the Edge. I hope I'm not disappointed. Its going to take a lot of willpower but I think I'm going to leave it on the stock tune for a couple days and do some datalogging. I want to see what affect the performance tunes have on temperatures, etc. Hopefully I can wait long enough, I really want to plug in level 2 and let 'er rip.

The performance tunes have had no affect on my temps.

i just got mine in the mail thursday night - updated the EDGE - plugged into the truck - programmed to level 2 - off i went

WOW

i can't stress enough how impressed i am - was worth every penny!

gas just dropped 25 cents here in the past 3 days - i think i will try 93 for my next tank and advance timing on level 2 to +2

btw: i mounted in the ashtray - nice and stealth!

you might want to just do a +1 on there. Edge recommends a 1 point increase for every two octane levels.

With 93 octane you can bump +3 on L2 (87 baseline); +1 on L3 (91 baseline) - at least at sea level. Mountain Folk can go up a bit more.

I second that!! I have the pullout ashtray/cupholders, so I am hoping someone has been done this... There is a recent thread in the chip/tuner section with an ashtray mod with the center console shifter/flip out ashtray...

I am running 93 octane and the timing is bumped to +1.75 with no pinging. I first had it at +1.0 and the tail pipes were showing black residue as if it were running too rich, so I bumped it to +1.75.

I'm pretty leary about doing that...but then again I might have to bump it up a little more. Could be why I only get about 13mpg on level 3. I'll have to think about that one a little more.
