Question for Ford Techs!

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 and the engine light is on the airbag light is on, the trucks fuel guage will not work it say that there is low fuel when it is full, the radio doesnt work the rear power point doesnt work and the reverse sensors and reverse lights dont work, the truck starts runs and drives but if I put the parking lights on it will die. What do you think it is, I put the stock program back from the edge and the dtc is po463 and p1000. I think it needs to be reflashed or the bcm or pcm is fried, what do you think? Thanks in advance

What are you mods? When did this start to happen (i.e. after tuning w/XCal or Edge?). Sounds like a couple fuses went out at the same time (some fuses do multiple things), but that would be odd. Definitely check your fuses with a test light so you don't have to pull them all out, worth a shot.

You are asking a question that would be diffictult to diagnose without seeing/teseting it in person. I am not a tech, but my dad is one. I know electrical problems can become very very tricky things to pinpoint and fix (electronics engineering background). But at the same time, one stupid little connection may be the problem.

Like Josiah said, what mods have you done? When did this happen? What did you do RIGHT before you noticed this problem for the first time?

truck is stock with exception of edge and I had a clifford alarm installed. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was the fuse block on the passanger side kick panel and they said they have seen a couple of trucks that this has happened too.

It's very possible it's your alarm causing the problem then. I don't know anything about the clifford brand alarm, but with the code alarm, you have to find polarity on your dome light and door switches.

For example, the Ford Manual said the fuses for their alarms (ford alarms are made by code alarm) should be a negative polarity on the dome light. I put my fuse in the negative polarity plug on my code alarm and it popped the fuse for the constant power on my instrument cluster which also affected my radio and a few other things. I tested the polarity of the wire and sure enough it was positive so I switched the fuse in the alarm and replaced the popped fuse in my trucks fuse block and it works great now.

I removed the entire alarm before I put into service for fear they would say it was that.

Check your "Instrument Cluster Keep Alive" fuse (#21 I think). I bet it's blown and will need another 15 amp fuse (I think it's a 15 amp) to get everything working again. That one fuse controlls your cluster and radio (and proably everything else you mentioned). Sounds like your polarity was wrong with the alarm or when it was installed, it was shorted to ground and popped the fuse.

They are now saying that there was a ground short under the dash and they have to replace the radio, etc.
