I just love my brakes

I dont know what the deal is with my brakes, but i've had about enough of it. I've had my truck in a total of 5 times and its not even a year yet. Starting to think i got a lemon here. But, my main problem is the brakes right now since i finally got my a/c fixed, for now atleast(two trips later). My brakes are absolutely horrible and i just got it back from the delership on friday. They replaced the master cylinder and the brakes were noticebly better but they still suck. My uncle has an 04 and his are way better than mine. I know i've read on here others that have this problem. I have tried all of their methods in hope of an easy quick fix , but no luck. I even went on a dirt road and slammed them so the abs would kick in, they still just dont feel right. Its starting to get to the point were i dont feel confidate that i could stop if someone suddenly slammed on their brakes. Any comments are appreciated guys, sorry about the long post.

Honestly after the brake dust on mine; i changed the brake pads. I know that Ford wont warranty aftermarket brakes but my new ones brake better and leave almost no brake dust. I bought some ceramic brake pads from Auto Zone(50 bucks) and they sucked( brake dust, squeaking) so i put some semi metallic ones on and they are perfect and they were half the price. You can look into that and if they still act up put your stock ones back on and take it in again.

If I had that many of the same problem I'd be pursuing buyback.

Since no one else has posted it yet, I will...

"MY brakes are fine, the brakes on these F150s are more than adequate. You must be imagining things and looking for something to compain about, besides brakes are over rated."

Just kidding, hopefully you can tell Im being sarcastic here.

I feel your pain, Ive taken mine in 6 times for the brakes alone without satisfaction. They replaced everything from the master cylinder to the brake booster etc. I still leak brake fluid and my brakes still suck. You probably wont get much help on here, I was ridiculed when suggesting a lemon due to brake failures. I guess brakes just arent of concern around here. Theres not much to do other than take it back and demand the brakes be fixed. Good luck.

I have an 05 with no brake issues. I did have the dust problem, but I changed out the pads and that is no longer an issue. If I had that much problems with brakes, I would be asking about the lemon law ,too.

I have an 05, and my brakes are GREAT!....I've been extremely impressed with how well they work on a truck that's as heavy as this. Can't be a design issue, it must be a problem with a few. Now the A/C....that's another issue?

Man did I call it, I knew the posts would start coming with, and I quote, "My brakes a great."

Its like clockwork.

Hey man I would really push for the dealer to either get them fixed or have a buyback. Despite what some on here think, brakes are a major concern on any vehicle.

If I'm not mistaken, you were ridiculed for thinking you should qualify for the lemon law and buyback for one or two drops of brake fluid here and there on your reservoir from a poorly designed, slightly leaking cap... not because you were having horrific brake problems.

Why you continue to throw that up every 5th post when it happened months ago is beyond me.

If the few of you with chips on your shoulders (including the once F150 owners turned other manufacturer owners but still feel the need to troll here) truly find this site so appalling, why in the world are you still here?

The guy said he appreciated any comments, not just the ones you deem worthy of gracing a thread you happen to be reading.

Actually it was not simply for one or two drops of fluid, it was for a constantly sinking brake pedal to the floor and several atempts at no brakes at all. So Im not sure what you deem as "horrible brake problems", but any brake failure in my book is horrible.

Like I said, its like clockwork, anytime anyone posts a problem, everyone swarms them with, "I dont have that problem". I am here to let those with problems know that despite everyone on here telling them they dont have a problem, a problem can still exist. Just because I dont circle jerk with everyone because I own a Ford, doesnt mean my posts are of less validity. I am here to balance out everyone else dismissing problems.

I fail to read a "dismissal" of the problem in any of the posts.

Not in your particular thread, but to post "I dont have any problems" to a person that does have problems doesn't add anything helpful to the person posting. In fact, its like pouring salt on a wound, "you have problems but I dont." Its just annoying(and amusing) to post a problem, and everyone respond by saying "I dont have that problem" instead of suggesting solutions to the problem.

Thanks for the feedback guys, funny thing happened today on my commute home from school. Some guy just randomly stopped in the middle of the road and turned on his blinker to get into the turning lane. I came up on him going about 55 and there was nothing i could do i knew there was no way i could stop so i had to bail out to the right. It basically scared the **** out of me. So i have decided that im going to go up to the dealership and tell them look you either fix em or i dont want it back and see how that works out. Theres nothing like that feeling on knowing that theres nothing you can do about it if and when the situation arouses.

Tell that story to the dealer. I can't beleive they wouldn't try harder for you after hearing that. If nothing happens it'll be good ammo for the buyback if it comes to that.
