sounds like a good deal to have
I worded it wrong, I was thinking one thing and typing something else.

I meant to say the power lock, so it locks/unlocks with my door locks, but I also want to wire it in to the trunk button on my remote so it pops open when I push the trunk button (and slowly lowers with the tailgate assist).

I know there is a kit for sale that does this, but I don't want to pay $300+ dollars for it. I will try and figure it out for much cheaper, and if/when I do I will post what I did here with an install how-to. I have a few more mods to do first though, like install my efans.

A kit to slave the tailgate lock to the door locks runs between 65-95 bucks on line. Or you can use a 5 buck power unlock unit which you can wire and mount yourself. Invest about 10-15 bucks with all parts. Myst did a great write up on this.

there are more white trucks made than any other color

most belong to XL's who dont need the tailgate (some dont need the bed either)

so they get taken off and sold

you must not have looked very hard at junk yards if you cant find one

Yeah your right. I didnt even bother. I was hoping one would just show up on my doorstep. Or maybe the tailgate fairy would bring one.
