But I do use my fog lights all the time (but I never use highbeams) because i think it makes trucks look better coming down the road.
Doors could sound a little more solid when closing, and the mileage would be nice if it was a few MPG better, which I believe should be attainable even for a truck of this size...but no one else has done it yet, so maybe not
* brake dust
* rear slider squeek
* rear passenger door rattle
* occasional rattle from cowl under wipers on hood, passenger side
* rear window doesn't always work... bizarre. (power rear slider)
* Basically all the rattles and noises from supposedly the "quietest truck". Yeah...
I won't complain about gas mileage, not fair it's what i expected when i bought it. But that was back in late 2003. It's now late 2006, over 3 years later, and a LOT has changed with gas and oil. No way will I ever buy a gas guzzler again in today's climate/prices. I want to buy the new F-150 in 2009, and I will wait to see what they offer, but if there is no hybrid version it'll be time to look at something other than a 150, it's just not practical or good for the environment or good for America in general to be paying these prices for oil from overseas. Doesn't Chevy or GMC already have a hybrid option for their pickups? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I read it somewhere.
Let's all pray Ford gives us some kind of hybrid option, they must know by now they need to do something to keep sales of F-150 high enough not to lose such an amazing winning selling streak. But today, no one wants a gas guzzler anymore, heck, most people simply cannot afford it! Even on this thread with dedicated F-150 owners, people are starting to drop off and sell their trucks, not because they WANT to, but because they HAVE to to support themselves and their family's. Gas is too high, and it won't ever go back down where it used to be. Ford needs to move beyond gas into friendlier alternatives along with the other auto makers. I love my truck... but how long can I, or any middle American, keep it with prices as high as these?
Alternative fuel options, Ford. That needs to be a priority for the Next F-150. I'll stay true in my beautiful 43k '04 F-150 until I see what you've got planned for us in '09...

The brake dust and legendary thirst of the 5.4 engine are major annoyances, but as for what I hate about my truck you will have to see this thread: LINK
Simply put, this is the first vehicle I have purchased new and if the issues I am having cannot be repaired to my satisfaction, it will be the last Ford vehicle I ever buy. EVER.
After that, if I need a full sized truck I will jump ship to Chevrolet, otherwise a Toyota or Nissan is in my future. (I'm not ruling out the possibility of a full sized truck from the latter two)
Before buying this truck, I drove Honda, Nissan, and Acura cars with 100,000+ miles on them and had fewer problems. There is simply no excuse for the POS that is currently sitting in my garage.
You know what? I got a warm fuzzy feeling when I bought a good ol' American made vehicle this time, but after these problems the guys that built my truck will like starve to death before I put another dollar in their pockets.
Yeah, I got worked up about it but you would too if you were making payments on this turd.

Or you can just cut the wire.
LMAO@cut the wire ....here is the way to do it...but you have to follow the directions exactly or it wont work...
The parking brake is set.
The truck/car is in Park (automatic), Neutral (manual).
The ignition is OFF.
All doors are closed.
The driver's safety belt is un-buckled.
The parking and headlights are OFF.
Then follow these 9 steps:
Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START.
Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF(1-2 minutes).
Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 60 seconds!
Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.
Turn on the headlights, turn off the headlights.
Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.
After step 5, th e Safety Belt Warning Light will be turned on for 3 seconds.
Within 7 seconds of the safety belt warning light turning OFF, buckle then un-buckle the safety belt.
This will disable the Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable the Belt Minder if it is currently disabled.
Confirmation of the disabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds.
Confirmation of the enabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the safety belt light off, then followed by flashing the safety belt light 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
After confirmation, the deactivation/activation of the Belt Minder procedure is complete.

I tried that on my 05 and it didn't work...
what I did was:
The parking brake is set.
The truck/car is in Park (automatic), Neutral (manual).
The ignition is OFF.
All doors are closed.
The driver's safety belt is un-buckled.
The parking and headlights are OFF.
Then follow these 9 steps:
Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START.
Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF(1-2 minutes).
Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 50 seconds!
buckle and unbuckle 9 times light thn flashes quickly and within 7 secs buckle unbuckle one more time.
you gotta do that for each side too but it was the only way mine

Minor Things
I love my truck now more than the day I bought it, but there are a few things I would do differently if I were designing it.
I agree that jack storage sucks. Mine's now in the tool box.
The dash could use a little work to accomodate the myriad of additions people do. Head units, CBs, navigation, etc.
I agree that the cloth interior stains too easily, but then good mats and seat covers can help with that.
I suppose I'll HAVE to keep some kind of bed rail caps on the box.
Overhead rail additions require a second mortgage. For a plastic box. KMA.
I won't complain about mileage because that ain't the problem. It's the cost of gas that's the problem.
The one thing that truly drives me insane about this truck is the damned OD button. It's in the worst possible location and OD gets inadvertently turned off all the time.

It's illegal to drive without a seatbelt in Mississippi, so a seatbelt reminder is a good thing for my of the people that I know.
