Theres plenty of mods you can do to your truck and wake it up. If you think yours is slow try having a bone stock 4.6 instead of a 5.4. When I first drove my truck(4.6) I actually pulled over and popped the hood cause aftering driving it a thought it must be a v6!. But after break in and several mods my truck now has plenty of power.

mods help out a lot! i have the 4.6 lifted on 37's and my time was 8.4 according to my edge. i do have 4.88 gears and the edge though i actually don't want much more off the line power because i am wearing these big tires down fast.

something wrong with your truck

I actually have trouble changing lanes on highways because the truck struggles to move at all. I'm seriously considering buying a lightning now. Ugh... anyone else's truck this slow?

I just have a normal 06 xlt and don't have those issues. I have no trouble changing lanes on the freeway. I just mash te gas and it goes.
remember that your truck weighs a little over 5000 pounds.

PCM flash... I know the 4.6's aren't the fastest trucks in the world, but how do I know if I need to have my PCM flashed? I have never drove another 04+ F-150 and have no idea how mine compares in throttle response.

Maybe you should have test drove a few before taking one.

Mine was a demo (2,800 miles)... could not afford a brand new one being a college student, I wasn't even planning on getting a truck untill I saw this one. Was going to get a 2003 Mustang GT. Fell in love with the truck.

10 flat is pretty slow. I'm running 8.7 at 5200+ ft altitude and 3.73 gears on my '04 FX4 scab with only an Edge at lvl 2 and intake.

Where were you etrevino? You have the 4.6 with gears and a tuner on 37's and are running an 8.4? It's really hard to believe a well modded 5.4 on 37's is running with traffic, or is it.

You're helping prove the 4.6 2v to the nonbelievers, but I still wish you good luck, you've seen my threads. 8.4 is great, props to you.

I'm not sure if I'm getting off topic or on topic but anyhow the Roush truck in this thread was recently on Ebay but didn't sell.I thought the price was reasonable.

it's a truck man. why does everyone complain about how these f150's arent race cars? by the way, why do you have a troyer performance and a whipple logo on your sig if you dont even have their products on your truck?

Well guys, after about a month of contemplating whether I should sell it or not, I've decided to keep it. I was seriously thinking about getting an 03 Harley F-150, but after test driving one, I realized I'd be giving up to much interior wise. The interior on my truck is so much nicer. Also, I bought an Edge, and all I can say is WOW. It brought my 0-60 time down to 7.2. Compared to how it used to be, that's a pretty big improvement. Anyways, I might be getting the Saleen truck down the road if it winds up being a solid truck.

10 seconds, I thought that a stock F-150 with a light chassis would do an 8.9 0-60?

my stock 5.3 chevy runs away and than wait's for a ford to catch up....Than runs away any from stock 5.4 3 V Ford, the pre 04 260 horse 5.4 are close to matching the performance of my chevy, me and my brothier have this Ford vers chevy thing going on, I'm glad I did not get a 06 F-150.

I reserched the 06 F-150 a lot and in the end a much cheaper, lighter chevy Z71 fit the bill...THe 04+ F-150 are heavy whights buit for torque, not For going fast and I wasent impressed with dodge or Ford....or a new chevy, no rear disk brakes...

I guess your brothier must be the smart one.
