Black Plastic Screw

Anyone know how to remove these black plastic screws without damaging them? These are located just under the lower valance panel, on the inside.

There is no way to guarantee they won't be damaged. But they make a special tool for removing them, or, if you have it around your house there is a garden tool with a v-shaped end that wraps around the base and pops the top off quite well. good luck!

They are called christmas tree fasteners. The tool is a Trim Fastener Removal tool. And yes, a dandelion remover garden tool should work.

I just used needle nose plyers on mine. Two of the bottow three where not holding the bottom rubber matt on and they needed to be pulled in order to put through the holes in the rubber matt.

One of them tore when pulling out with the plyers and the other came out easily. The one that tore was JB welded back together and I put it through the hole no problem.

Pull them out. Goto your local parts store and spend a few bucks for some new ones.

They were designed to be disposable.

There's a panel tool designed specifically for those retarded plastic doohickeys.

Those things are the biggest pain in the a$$ ever. Best thing to do is dont worry about tearing them up and get new ones they are pretty cheap. Otherwise like they said they make a tool but there is no way of garunteeing they wont be damaged.
