Painted Mirrors
I have done a few of the mirrors and handles on the 04-06 F-150's and they must be dissasembled in order to look right an nothing but pro paints should be used.
I don't know yet how to add pictures on here, maybe someone can tell me how. But for now here is a link to a member I have done the work for, it was also featured at the SEMA show.

The mirror comes apart in 4 parts including the mirror (Glass), and the handles in 2 parts.

One problem I have with painting the mirrors is if they are not hard plastic instead of the porous plastic that nearly every mirror is made out of, the paint and clear wont stick very well to the plastic and will eventually peel off. Also it wont give that flat finish that leads to an awesome shine and ultimately match the finish of the truck. For the best results one must either get new mirrors or get caps to glue on and paint over.
