Issues with my 05 5.4

So, I've had my 05 5.4 SCAB for a little over a year now. Everything was good until recently.
A month or so ago, the brakes were squealing and I was getting vibes from the front during braking.
Took it in and the dealer replaced the front calipers, pads and rotors all under warranty

Two weeks ago, it started missing, running rough and shuddering on the fwy. Took it in and the dealer replaced a coil wire under warranty.
This week it's doing idling rough, missing and shuddering again, only this time it's only under load - uphill or passing
Took it in and the dealer says it's two coils, two fuel injectors, and the catalytic converter.
Oh yeah and he tells me I should seriously consider an extended warranty. I only have 20K on the truck so sometime between now and the next 16000 miles I need to figure out what to do with this truck.

I'm hoping this is a fluke and I won't be having any more issues, but has anyone else had this many issues in this type of timeframe?
Should I be looking a for the lemon law thing? Does that even apply?

Sorry for the rant, I love my truck, but this is just frustrating. (not to mention a hassle)

-Rich

You would lose too much money trading it in this early. Better off getting the Ford extended warranty. Does not sound like you have anything major at this point. No one likes to have any kind of problems with their new truck but sometimes it happens. You could sell this one and and up with something with even more problems. You just never know.

Sorry to here that your having problems with your truck after you had your brakes fixed.

Look at the bright side, at least the problems are cropping up now while your still under warranty.
My warranty is up in 4 months, I think i have replaced pretty much all the problem areas of my '04. (throttle body, front rotors/brakes, leaky tail lights, rebuilt rear end, outside temp sensor).

At least they found and fixed your problems. I definitely understand your frustration. I agree with getting the extended warranty, and you will lose big time on a trade-in. Good luck.

I had the throttle body replaced and a computer reflash at 1600 miles. I now have 30,800, no more problems. If I were you, I would go for the extended warranty. I don't think the lemon law comes into play as they are fixing your truck.

This is the dumbed-down version as it was explained to me: the same exact problem has to happen 3 times in a year for it to be considered under the lemon law even if the dealer is fixing it. As I said, that's what I was told. Take it with a grain of salt, that may be wrong.

Hopefully my '05 doesn't start going through all of that. It was enough of a hassle the couple times I've taken it in before.

Thanks everyone for your response. You're right, I would take a bath trading it in.
I guess I'll see how it goes for the next 16000 miles and then look at the extended warranty before the time comes.
Hopefully they'll get it fixed right this time and I won't have any more issues.

Update

So, dealer says that last time it was cylinder #3 coil and that was fixed. This time it's cyls 2 and 4 and the coil messed up the injectors which flooded 2 of the catalytic converters.
Should be ready sometime mid next week.
I asked if they could just replace the rest of the coils so I don't have this issue 5 more times and they said, no, warranty only covers what broken, not what might break"

I didn't realize the truck has more than one catalytic converter?

Still love my truck...but the honeymoon period is definitely over.....

It truly redefines the term FORD; Fix Or Repair Daily I too had serveral problems including DS and rearend repacked. All is well, now 37000 miles, but initial I almost wanted to trade out of Ford but decided to wait out until OEM warranty was out...I'm glad I did, no more problems and many mods since then inlcuding Edge Evo and intake/exhaust. I love driving this rig regardless of the gas price Be patient and your case, you might want to consider getting that warranty coverage...those coils, injectors are $$$$.

I thought there was a TSB that said to replace all the spark plugs on the 05 to the updated plug? You may want to ask about that, if it's true then you get all new spark plugs, couldn't hurt right?
