Sorry to here about that man. Mine was broken into in a San Antonio hotel in May. They got in by just punching in the lock cylinder and stole every damn thing I had in my truck accept a dollar bill I had in the console and my radar detector(because you really can't see it if you don't know it's there). They messed up the dash so bad the whole thing had to be replaced. If it weren't for my $5k in extra coverage for all of my equipment, I would have been screwed! Well worth the extra $135 a year for the coverage. I now bumped it to $6k just to be on the safe-side!

P.S. I would say move to Austin!

That is horrible, I hate that people think they have a right to ruin other peoples lives like this. I'm with you guys, if I see anyone near my or anyone else's vehicles trying to break into it, there will be hell to pay.

There is a special place in hell for these people. This is why I have a 2-way alarm on my truck.

ITs sad but this is the reason why I havent bought a navigation unit for my truck, or rims for that matter. Hell you cant sit and watch your truck all the time, and no alarm will stop a determined thief. Better off to just save your money for something that they cant steal. A low profile truck attracts less of the bad kind of attention.

Where do you live anyway?

Don't you have an alarm on your truck? If I already had 1 stereo jacked and a set of rims, I definitely would have a very loud alarm installed to deter anyone from doing it again. Too bad they don't make alarms that will send 100,000 volts through anyone that tried to break into your truck (like a taser).

i had to park my truck outside last night for the first time since i bought the truck. I just noticed alittle while ago that someone stole my exhaust tips from my brand new corsa exhaust. I had just went through and made sure that everything was tight so i know that it didnt fall off.

People always wonder why i carry a pistol around with me....this would be why. Thieves are scum of the earth.

Problem is that the pistol doesn't do you much good when they break into your truck in the middle of the night and you are asleep or when you are not around. I do agree, however, that theives are the scum of the earth!

I've had that sinking empty feeling 4 times now. 1 completely stolen, 3 other break ins, none in the truck thank goodness. I have an alarm on my car and all 3 break ins it didn't make a lick of difference. 2nd time they broke in they popped the hood and PRIED the cable off the terminal post to cut power, the post was now at a 45 degree angle on a week old battery. Ever since this happened I haven't left anything of value in my car or truck. I've seriously looked into a "live-wire" fry-a-thief gadget or strategically placed razor blades, but that'll just end with one cut up or dead meth/crack head and me in jail. I'll take car break in for $500 over a stint in jail, even though revenge would be awesomely sweet.

I'm with allrsdup, crap like this makes you really hate people

With as good as some of these theives are, you would think that they could find something better to do with their expertise than to break into cars and drive all of our insurance premiums up.
The sad part is that I've read about theives breaking into homes and getting injured in the process and then suiing the homeowner for their medical bills. Do we all need to put signs up on our homes and autos that read "theives break in at their own risk - owner not liable for any injuries which may be incured"?

Yeah, a gun wont do much good against a theif when he is stealing a stereo. What would you do, shoot him. Hell you'd be the one to go to jail. You cannot shoot someone unless they are threatening your life.

However, it would still be great to pull an American History X on the f*%ker, bite the curb...
