new user introduction

hi all.

name here is John. going through some life changes i guess, and recently traded my '04 Mach 1 and '94 F-150 for an '06 FX4 super cab.

except for excessive brake dust on the front wheels (i just complained about this in another thread), i. love. this. truck.

i'm not super mechanical---as dirty harry says, a man has to know his limitations---and i know mine. i like to do all my own maintenance and i baby all of my vehicles to the best of my ability.

i'm taking the FX4 on vacation tomorrow, where i hope to spend time thinking and dreaming about mods that i can perform on my own.

i had a diablo predator for the Mach---i suppose there's something similar for our 5.4 Tritons? what's the conventional wisdom here on where i should start looking?

well, that's it for now. i hope to get to know some of you over time.

Welcome to the site!! The excessive brake dust is a product of the cheap OEM brake pads. Switching to a set of ceramic pads will cut the dust dramaticly. As for a programmer, the Superchips, Hypertech and Edge programmers are some of the most popular.

Welcome. I don't like the dusty wheels either. Gives me a reason to wash the truck more though.

Thanks John.

I wish that was the only reason I had to wash my truck.

Welcome to the site, you could even get the Motorcraft pads and they won't put out as much dust either. As for needing a reason to wash your truck it doesn't take much with mine either, black and dusty Utah doesn't mix well haha.

Welcome, keep reading the boards, seems there is no end to the mods you can do.
