AEM Brute Force owners speak up

I have seen all kinds of debate here about the many different intakes for our trucks since I've been a member and have come to the conclusion that I prefer the AEM Brute Force dry filter setup best. What I am looking for here is any input you owners of this system have with regards to performance, ease of installation, sound, looks, and maybe with a few pics thrown in too.

BTW, I am planning on getting a tuner (edge first, then xcal2 later on) before I get the intake so I shouldn't create any lean conditions by running an intake with the stock tune.

Thanks guys.

Well I have the AEM in my truck. The only thing that was an issue is that it was for a 04 & 05 not 06. The difference was how the mas mounted. The intake did not have an adapter for it. So I made one. Sounds good but I think all aftermarket intakes sound about the same.

Fit and finish was good. You have a choice between silver painted or chrom. Over all I am very happy with the setup. I have not had to clean it yet and they do include two bottles of cleaner.

It was also cheaper than the FRAM setup. Bought it at autoanything and used the coupon "truckin". Save 10% i think. I have pics in my gallery just folllow the link in the sig.

Just have a question about the tuners. Why are you gonna get 2 tuners? You can only run one program at a time.

Come on man, you don't already know? I like the edge for the gauges and the xcal2 for the custom tunes. That way I can alst really argue it up in the "chips, tuners, and programming" forum.

Why don't you just get the Xcal 2 and ScanGauge than?

mmmmm ScanGauge II, good stuff right there. Got mine mounted where the Edge display would usually mount. Looks pretty good, a little hard to read the display during the day though....

Back to this lean issue without a tuner, I was thinking about the AEM b/f after seeing it on a truck show. The tube was polished aluminum with a powder painted steel air box and the filter was a non-oiled washable type. It looks like one of the best out there, but I haven't found them for an 06 yet.

They don't because the mas is different than 05's. I made an adapter so mine would work. Check out the gallery.
