Cam Phaser & Lifters replaced at 33,000 mi

They replaced all plugs under warranty while doing all the other warranty work I mentioned earlier. I just understand how they could break four, unless they just were not careful because it was warranty work with Ford paying for it, not the customer.
Yeah, I understand how they can break during removal. I think they get deposits on them according to driving conditions which causes them to come apart while removing them. I drive mine mostly highway and the old ones looked practically brand new. I guess it's just luck.
Is it possible for the cam phaser to be an intermittent problem? well, it constantly happens when it is cold out and the engine is warming up, but after it warms up it goes away. I always thought my constant loud ticking noise was the cam phaser, it is a quite loud tick that you can hear it from inside the truck even when the windows are rolled up. The knocking sound is much louder and a scarier sound though, it sounds like a diesel truck when its cold outside.
I believe Quinton is a service tech., unless he got promoted. And yes, he does know his stuff. There was a guy on the forum within the last year that said his uncle was one of the guys that designed that plug. If I was him, I'd have bought his uncle the dunce hat the moment he was stupid enough to admit to it. The problem is in design and engineering things are to closely controlled, they were probably pull'in those plugs out every 5k to see how they were do'in. Put the thing out in the oil fields or on a farm to do the real world testing and those plugs would have never seen the light of day. Once the horse is out of the barn, (in production and being sold) they've got to deny they have a problem or it would cost them a gazillion dollars.

Griffen has a good service dept also. Did you try them?
Your always better off if you can research the problem here, and ask the dealer to check into a specific issue or TSB. I've had a lot of success doing just that with Griffin and Best (now Uptown).
Can you quiet the ticking sound with a good fuel injector cleaner? do the 07 and 08 still have this issue?
Since my original, and dire question got buried by posts i'd like to re-post it so i could get an answer. I've read through this thread, and no-one address my specific problem.

Guess what, no issues with the engine at 41,000 miles. Sure it's annoying but I wouldn't worry about it too much. No performance problems here either. And I run it HARD often.
