I do feel really bad about harping on Ford and this quality product, but frustration got the best of me. Happier than a pig in ****!
Well I am VERY happy that you are happy. I'm glad they got it all worked out for you. It's a shame it took as long as it did, because the rest of us have been enjoying our trucks all along, but hey now you can too!

Congratulations on sticking it out and getting your truck fixed. I believe over half of the problems with F150s are due to inept service departments. You might check with the service manager at the "good" dealer and see if they have any trustworthy employees who live near you. They may be willing to have the employee drop of a loaner on the way to or from work and bring the truck back to you when done.

Yeah, after thinking it over, I will probably drive north for service from now on, except for the oil changes. If they could help me out with time, I may ask them. Good suggestion. BTW, nothing like a cool dense air morning to make your drive fun. Colorado summers are not known for their abundant oxygen, but it felt just like new this morning.

I'll jump on the boat. I love my '04. But I agree the power leaves something to be desired. Must be some of our set-ups. My truck has power. I would say just enough with the 5.4. I also a drive an 06 4.6, The 5.4 is better by far, but not to far. Maybe 4.10's would have been a better ratio.

My last truck was a 5.3 GMC Z71. That truck felt so much quicker. Even with posi I could leave black tracks behind me. The 4.6 cant do even a dog leg burn out. And the 5.4 makes a tiny squeek, but no marks.

I have yet to tow with the truck. But I assume I am goin to want more power.

Again, nice try with the 5.4, but it gets a so/so in my book..

My 5.4L will leave black marks regardless if the tuner is in or not. The day I left the dealer with the truck, I left two black marks right out of the dealer lot.

Mine has a mind of it's own. When I don't want it to, it will, and when I wanna play, it acts like it's got traction control.

It will do donuts though!!!

Since I haven't seen a diesel engine laying around at the plant yet, I don't see it happening until '09, although it still might be possible for '08, which is slated to launch in the spring of '07. It still seems that we are leaning towards International for the diesel engines, and we are planning on them to be in the HD Titan and the LCV (light-duty commercial van).

Ford could sell dog crap and some of you guys would buy it and claim its the best thing in the world because it has a Blue Oval.

And yet, not all of you have Ford cars. Many have Hondas and Toyotas in the driveway beside the F150.
Best post here...

Unfortunately this is true, if anyone on here has a problem, concern, or criticism they are told to sell their truck or leave the forum...

Blind loyalty will only get you so far before you realize Ford doesnt give a crap about customer service or creating a quality product. They are simply trying to stay afloat here by milking its repeat buyers. Granted this truck has been "reengineered" if you want to call it that. But the poor qaulity shines through after the new feeling wears off.

The engine: a ticking, spark plug swallowing, VIBRATING, underpowered(regardless of throttle by wire or not) POS. Chevy and Dodge still use OHV engine design and are very successful. The GM LS series engines are miles ahead of the Ford mod motor, which Ford cannot seem to fix continuous head problems, I was naive to think that the new 3 valve design would be any different.

My old truck was a 93 F150 5.8 and I wouldnt have any hesitation going to get it back, and they could keep the years worth of payments on this POS.

The only reason I havent gotten rid of this thing is because I would get raped on a trade in, tradein values are horrendous.

I'm worn out. It took nearly a whole day to find out the end to this story! First of all, I love my truck. If I could just say one thing about the 5.4L that I don't like. Why in the hell does an engineer have to design a motor with a six inch spark plug port buried under 100 feet of heater hose, 50 feet of emission hoses, a fuel rail, twenty pounds of electrical wire and a firewall. I swear, I think the 5.4L is a mini nuclear reactor. Mine is a 99. Did they go ahead and encase it with lead and concrete in the 06's?

Back last November when I was looking for a truck to replace my old 2000 I test drove a 2004 reg cab XLT 4x4 with a topper on the bed it had the 4.6 engine and it squeeled the tires when I took off and wasn't trying to do so then I test drove the 05 4x2 reg cab XLT 5.4 and knew the 5.4 was the way to go with the newer trucks as they are a little bit heavier than the old style and i had a 4.6 in my 2000.
