Need some help with lift and upgrades
hey I just got back from Afghanistan, and looking to wakeup my truck, got a 2004 fl50,5.4,fx4,Flariside,with 3.73 Ls
i want the troyer stage 2 minus the efans cause i want the flexalites due to its mounting. i will be getting the 4" rancho, w 35" bfg mt's, with 18" moto metal 951's and a 4.56 gear upgrade, but i need some help, before i get slammed, ive searched and got plenty of answers but would like some definitive responses from those that have already done what ive planned
who has the flexalites on their 2004+ f150's, how are they and do you have pics?
I want the precision gear 4.56's, big question, do i have a 8.8 or 9.75?
if you have the precision gears, how are they and what kit did you have to buy (i have 4x4)?
are there any known problems with the rancho, ive heard of driveline and cv angle problems with the fabtech?

damn good questions bro!
Glad to have ya back too, maybe for good?
sorry can't answer your questions, but I am definately interested in the rancho 4" lift, what kind of price did you get for that and wheels and tires?
Gotta start thinking about what to add to my new truck!

cant say antyhing about the flex-a-lite fans
but since you have a 4X4 you have both, 9.75 Sterling rear, and 8.8 front
as ive heard many people go with precision gears or genuine gear, everyone i know around here has gone with one or the other, mostly precision.
um talk to thumper about the rancho, he should be posting in a minute, he use to have it but his truck was a lemon so he got a new truck.
fabtech's angles of course arent as good as the stock angles, but they arent bad either, for the most part fabtechs angles are good. fabtech makes one of the best products out there, along with Rize and stuff.

Truck is going to look good when you're done.
There isn't any problems with fabtech cv angles, they are maintain at factory, unless you get the DL and cranck the s**t out of them. see the pic of mine.

Fabtechs CV angles are NOT factory. They arn't bad at all by any means though, a leveling kit on a stock truck would be much worse. By the sound of things, you want to do it right. Have you looked at the RCD 4.5" kit instead of the Rancho? The Rancho kit was a pretty good lift but RCD is without a doubt, much better. I would of got that kit if it was out when I purchased. The cool thing about the RCD 4.5" is you can also go up to the full 6" if you want without getting a whole new lift. Yes you have both the 9.75 in the rear and the 8.8 reverse cut in the front.
I have the exact setup you mention:
Rancho 4"
MM 951
BFG 35x12.5.x18
Precision 4.56
I have no rubbing, etc. and the with the rs9000's the ride is awesome and I couldn't be happier.
One thing about the 951's is they are 4.5 bs so the tires are going to stick out. If you even drive near a puddle the truck is dirty.
I'm don't know anyone with the RCD, but I believe it clears 33's with the 4.5 and 35's with the 6. The kit does look very solid.

Holy Crud guys im so glad igot so many replies, and so helpful also, hey pjb1, you got any pics? i would love to see an exact version of my future truck, well i like the rancho, the rcd is too expensive, while rancho's quality is pretty good i think, and i dont want the 6" fabtech cause, with just 35's i think i see too much wheel well
does anyone have the flexalites in their 04+ trucks?
does anyone know the part numbers for the precision gear 4.56 gears for 4x4?
if everyone here is running troyer or jusnes e-fans, has anyone custom mounted their fans as to not go with the radiator retention setup?
thanks for all the help peoples
