I use it, but switching back to Motorcraft filters next time. Can't find any info that the Amsoil filter has the drainback valve. Truck runs no different that I can tell. I use it in a 95 Accord as well and there was a huge difference there, smoother idle and better mileage. The 5w30 in the accord is full synthetic, the 5w20 in the truck is a blend just like Motorcraft.

Dave you using it? If so where you getting it?

I use the 5W-20 XL7500 full synthetic in my 2001 Lightning -- switched first oil change. Also use the Amsoil filter. No issues in 55,000 miles --------

I am not using it, I was getting oil changes at the dealer.

In my store we have Mobil 1, but I have a competitor up the street that handles Amsoil, not sure how much of it he carries, I may need to stop in.

Ive used it before. It seems the same to me but I have piece of mind knowing that there is great oil in my motor. Its worth it to me. Im thinking about going to royal purple in the explorer.

Anything that costs more than Motorcraft is a wait of money for me. I have logged about 750K on Motorcraft products with no problems (in different vehicles of course).

Not 100% sure of the fact, but I read somewhere a year or so back that the Amsoil did not meet Ford's specs, even there synthetic. Wish I could find that info again, but have been unable to. Don't know if that is still true.

2005 4X4 LARIAT S.Crew.
Rear Diff: Amsoil 75w140 and 4oz Amsoil SlipLock.
Front Diff: Amsoil 75w90
Transfer Case: Amsoil ATF
Motor: Amsoil 0w30
Transmission: 14-15 quarts Amsoil ATF (did pan drop and filter change first, then full flush).

My brother has 2005 XLT S.Crew 4x4. Only thing different is he's trying Royal Purple in Tranny. Same thing, pan drop, new filter, then full flush with 15 or so quarts.

So far, best gas mileage is Amsoil 0w30 out of testing RP 5w20, Amsoil 5w20, MC 5w20, and Redline 5w20. (This is for 5 different vehicles).

Most of the feedback I hear is about costs. Even from a few experts at the oil analysis lab, however, when asked if I supplied them with any oil they wanted for free for their vehicles, 3 of 4 said they'd use Amsoil. The other said Redline or Royal Purple ( I guess because of the Moly).
