IFS on 40's ?
IFS on 40's ?
i know how yall all were saying that its a real bad idea to put 40" tires on the IFS of our truck. but the chevy 2500 is IFS look at this bad boy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...QQcmdZViewItem
why is the chevys IFS any better than ours...or is it not and so on? cause trucking always has a bunch of chevys on 40's and all off roading and they dont seem to get hurt.

I told you this before so I'll quote it again. And by the way, I think that chevy is pretty ugly (and I like almost all makes):

I wouldn't be too worried, you have lightweight tires.
thanks josiah i do remember you saying that, just seems like alot of people here dont encourage like its the death sentence to my truck. though i do think pretty highly of your advice and what you say so that gives me some hope also.
but also the FTS kit is built for that tall of tires...if I were to do 40's, then i would have a Rize kit with 3 inch body.
im with you on the ugly chevys also....well...they aint too bad....when u look at the 2007's

I used to think they were a good looking truck when lifted but I can't say that anymore, they've lost their appeal. The interior is way behind, it's just a real basic truck. You will be fine running 40's just don't get a chevy, that looks rediculous. When Dave snapped his front shaft there was a chevy on 33's and some 8+" lift who snapped his front end as well, guy went crazy as I understood. I don't see why a 2500 diesel would have IFS up front anyways
Running 40" OC's is close to running 37" MG's (you'll have to find out their weight), you shouldn't have too much trouble.
