Unhappy High Pitch noise

Hey folks, I just bought my first F150 (2005 STX - 16,000 miles) and have a general question. The truck drives and performs great but there is a high pitched squeeling noise that increases as the RPMs increase. I didn't notice it at the test drive because I was chatting with the sales guy and too excited to pay too much attention. Is this noice something common with the F150 or Ford in general? Thanks in advance!

High Pitch Noise

I can't really tell where its coming from. It almost sounds like transmission, I say that because of the increased pitch with the increased RPM. If the radio is on just a little bit, you don't notice it. Yes the windows are up.

If it only has 15,000 miles, it should still be under warranty, I say ur best bet would be to take it in and have it looked at...

Welcome to the site
Have you checked to see if you have a aftermarket intake system on the truck?

Smile Thanks guys!

I found the problem! The person prior to me, installed an amp. The amp is pumping the engine noise through the speakers. I unplugged the power cable and the noise is gone. Looks like I have to fix the ground wire or buy a filter of some type. Anybody have experience with this? Thanks to those with suggestions.
