Question Question For People With Rize Kit

just out of curiosity (this is somewhat of an addition to my thread "40" Tires")
how many of you are thinking about going up an extra 2 inches?
allrsdup was saying he is eventually going to go up 2 inches by putting longer coilovers up front and a add-a-leaf.....is this actually possible? i would think so i dont see any reason why not.

with saying that, on 10 inches would you be able to fit 40" tires that are 13.5 wide?

40x13.50 and the correct backspacing u should be able to clear with 10 inches of lift but u would have to trim maybe a little. If u wanna go high patshea just get the whiplash or fts but if u want the rize, i would get the 8, stick a 3 inch body and u will clear 40's all day long

whiplash and fts are not quality as far as i am concerned. u can go up 2" easy with the 8"rize lift because the half shafts are perfectly straight with the rize setup. i mean perfect! so what i was thinking is using the dirtlogic coilovers with a 2.5 auto spring spacer, this would be cheaper then having a set custom made by king i would think. since i have a 5" block in the back now when i replace the front coilovers i am going to replace the rear leaf spring pack with the skyjacker soft ride leaf pack (not an add a leaf) thats 4" of lift and then put a smaller block like a 3". thats my plan anyway. now a cheaper way would be just use a 2" auto spring spacer in front with the factory coilovers and an add a leaf in the back. but being as i spent so much on the rize kit for the quality no sence going cheap now so ill be saving for new coilovers it should look awsome.

bigyellow: by the way your truck looks awsome i wanted those wheels when i lifted mine but no one had them in stock soo i went with my second choice.

yeah i wanna go 40 inch tires sooo bad but i dont wanna f*c* up my IFS.....i need this truck to last around 8 years at least (im a junior....go to college at georgia tech....then probably a additional few years of training and learning)

it would be cheaper to do a 3 inch body then coilovers and new leaf spring pack.....

yes kick a$$ i know theres a rize 12" lift.....but its expensive as hell isnt it?

With 40's you will need 5.13 gears, bigger brakes (like another $3K) and have to change your wheel bearings every few thousands miles. To me...it's not worth it. I wouldn't go bigger than 37" tires so that it can perform better off road w/o worry of damaging something because of the weight of the tire/rim.

Just my .02 cents.

The strain of the extra weight from the tires/rims.

Also, I wouldn't put anything bigger than a 37" tire w/ 4.56's. I actually would go 4.88's with 37's, but with a tuner...you should be ok.

Im going to say it AGAIN, I wouldn't go any higher than 37s/38s without doing a SFA swap.

Actually, you're right. Live axle for > 37" tire.

Yes. Pat you have a new truck. Why push it to the limit and always have to fix stuff. Get the Rize and 37s. 38s will rub. With minor trimming mine rubs when turned and hitting a curb at the same time. My advice would be to go out and buy an old beater truck that is already lifted with big tires to screw up offroad. I am just trying to help out man. I have been in plenty of big trucks and trust me you will be happy with a setup like mine. IMO 37s are perfect for our trucks. 35s seem a little small for the wheel well and bigger than 37 starts wearing on the truck bad and IMO really aren't practical for a daily driver. Haha and don't forget how tight college parking spots are.

Take what you want from this but I just think you are trying to do too much to a new truck. Hope it all works out man.

Glad I could help. Do that and you will have an awesome truck that will ride like it does stock. I have been really busy and haven't gotten those pictures up I promised. They should help you feel better. Maybe tomorrow.
