Last weekend I filled up with premium and switched to level 3 after a drive cycle..

First day was OK, second day was more impressive (delay is weird?). Very impressed with power from level 3, but the mileage SUCKS. I drove over to Cape Canaveral (about 1.5 hour trip) and averaged a wonderful 15mpg...

I average about 19.5mpg on the highway on level 2. Normal?

 

It is for me. I think it has alot to do with driving style and how often you go over 2000 rpms. It seems to me the Level 3 is not as good below 3000 rpms, vs level 2 appears to be stronger off of idle up to 2500.

Level 2 is better for me.

 

I thought that the increase was a bunch of BS, but I just drove 400 miles from TN to GA, and averaged 19.1 MPG at 75-85+ MPH. I was really suprised..

 

What tune?

 

I always got better mileage running lvl3, 15.5 mpg average. Where on lvl2 I have been getting around 14.5. But thats just me, and I kinda have heavy right foot.

 

I get about 17.5 - 18.5 mpg hwy running lvl 3 with 93 octane. I get about 16-17 mpg hwy on lvl 2 w/ 89 octane. I bought my evolution for gas mileage, but now I can't keep my foot out of it. I average about 14.5+ mpg where at stock when I drove hard I averaged about 12 mpg. The exhaust and CAI help too.

 

I'm getting about 15.5 running level 2. I've only ran 2 tanks on level 3 and I was getting about the same. I like the power on level 2 more because it gives me more low end power.

Level 2, stock tune with 87 octane. Version v17.18

 

I noticed better gas milage on L2 as well, infact I made a thread about it a couple weeks ago.

Right now I have level 2 with premium fuel until this tank is empty because the gauge was going down way to fast on level 3 so I put it back to 2 and bumped the timing to +3 (93 Octane)

 

I switched back to level 2 this afternoon.. I will be filling with regular tomorrow AM.. I think I like level 2 much better. Low end definitely feels better, and I like the gas..

 

Even though I was getting better milage on lvl3, the reason that I went to lvl2 is that I am pulling trailers more and got tired of switching between the programs. Plus since 89oct is $0.15 a gallon cheaper than 93oct and lat night I filled the truck up with a total of $106.83 in 89oct gas for just my 04!!!! Lvl 3 wasn't that much better to justify the money.
