Pulley Question On 04 F150 Fx4 3v 5.4l
Currently finished installing the JBA Headers and a Magnaflow Exhaust... I have a K&N filter drop in filter and a SCT Tune... I was wondering what i would have to do to install the pulley set...
1) Would i have to retune the truck and raise the idle RPM range or should i just leave it the way it is?
2) Would the truck lose any of it's reliabiltiy? Would it be harder to steer since the power steering is lessened?! What about 4X4? Would that be normal? I drive this truck daily and im considering a pulley swap and an AIR intake..
Any Help appreciated...
Thanks!!

If you live in a hot climate or have a large sound system you are going to want to bump up the idle rpm. Otherwise your ac/alternator wont work as good. No loss in reliability and shouldnt have a problem with power steering.
Do your homework before doing pulleys, they are not all created equal. Cheap or improperly seated/torqued crank pulleys can throw your engine out of balance, causing BIG problems. You must use a torque wrench, and don't drive it if you feel any vibration after the install. Pull it off and check everything again.

on my van i went with the tp pullies-now i do have heavy duty cooling and charging-was no need to bump up idle-no flickering of lights,ac works perfect in traffic on hot days and-cooling wasn't affected-phil

I just want to find a place to install em correctly. I dont have the tools or the patience to do it correctly. I'l probably have the e-fans done as well.
