Some New Mods

Got all of the Mark LT handles installed, bedrug, put on factory heated/signal mirrors, power windows, and of course gave it a good cleaning. Still on the list: power door locks, paint mirrors, bumpers, upper bumper, & grill surround, tfp mirror covers, bumper grill, lowering kit 2/4, and some tint. Enjoy.

Was it difficult to put those mirrors on? Thats something I would like to do. Do you need to have a factory rear defogger?

Physically putting them in is simple, they are not wired yet, and I do not have a factory rear defrost, since you already have power mirrors, all you have to do is hook up the turn signal, and heat (easy if you have the rear defrost).

Looks nice! Especially that first photograph -- I love the 3/4 shots of standard cab-short box trucks!

Thanks for the comments, I think I'll be ordering the drop kit from mcgaughys on monday if they are open, unless someone knows of anywhere else to buy it online.

I have a question dude. After spending all the money to make your truck look like a xlt mix with fx4 how much have you spent as compared to just buying that model truck?

The thing is, people have different financial situations.

When I bought my '05 XLT I was an hourly employee and I bought all I could afford in a monthly payment. I wanted more, but couldn't afford it, however, I did get quarterly bonuses. I didn't want to rely on a bonus for a monthly payment because they fluctuate. So when those bonuses rolled around, I would buy things (lariat cluster, lariat steering wheel) to upgrade my truck.

Since then I did get promoted and got a nice auto allowance (it pays 90% of my new truck payment...hehe) and because of the raise and auto allowance, traded in my xlt for the lariat.

I know it seems easier to just buy the truck with everything, but different people yield different situations. My current vehicle didn't have everything I wanted. But after searching dealerships all day long for a perfect match, I finally settled for the one I currently have. It didn't have homelink in it, running boards, or a power sliding rear window. I added homelink in the factory location (looks good too), put on running boards, and after all of my other upgrades, will check into making my sliding rear window a power sliding rear window. First I need to put on my leveling kit (tomorrow), put in my new HU, the monitors in my headrest, and put my new volant CAI in.

Understandable man. I didn't know if you were one of those guys who buys the lowest model and just throws a bunch of money making it look like others. Good sh@t on the moving up at your job.
