truck sluggish...help?

I installed my lift and tires. 6" Pro-Comp with 37"x13.50 on 17x9 American Racing Chambers. I have not seen it yet or driven it. It is back home because I had to come back to school. My dad got the gears put in and the guy called my dad and said the truck seemed sluggish. Yes it is the 4.6 but the guy drove the truck before and after and he said that it should have more power. I went with 4.88's btw. My dad thinks that I did something but only stuff done was silencer removal, KnN filter, and glass packs. Anyone have any ideas?

Dude, the 4.6 pushing a 6" lift with 37's is your prob here. That, and glass packs completely destroy ALL low-end torque (AKA grunt). Sounds like just a bad combo of some different parts.

ive been wondering this...what are glass packs.

02supercrew is probably right but i would think that 4.88 gears would help you get your power back.....

i know the glasspacks aren't performance parts but the guy said the truck should be putting out more power after installing such tall gears. he said that he felt an improvement but not what it should be like.

try getting a tuner like the edge to program all those mods together. it will probably help you out a lot

yeah i was thinkin that would help. but still 4.88's are some tall *** gears so it should be a big change. I was thinkin of gettin the edge, efans, and maybe some pullies.

Yes they are and those are some tall a$$ tires. I'd say wait until you drive it before you freak out.

If I were you I'd go the full bolt-on path because that thing is going to be a pig.

High flow cats, new Y, X or H pipe and cat back exhaust. I don't know if they make headers for the 4.6 or not but look into it, new intakee can't hurt. Overall though, I don't think you are trying to make this into a race type truck (based on 37's and the 4.6L) so just see where you are at when you drive it and what you feel needs to be done.

i am trying not to expect too much but I am hoping for a lot from the gears. I went from 33's and 3.55's to 37's and 4.88's. I am not going for a race type vehicle. If I was I would not have bought an F150 I would have bought a sports car. I am going to get the programmer for sure. I don't know which performance exhaust.

I'd wait to drive it before I started jumping to conclusions. Im sure the guy doesn't drive that 4.6L every day so when you hop in it you might be amazed at the increase of power. Just a thought. But, if its not what you expected. I'd ditch the glass packs and pick up a set of Flowmasters with the Edge.

Keep us updated man!

that'd be low... higher number=lower gear...

i guess boredom makes you critical....
