Today I took the edge off because the truck goes in the shop tomorrow and I felt like I was driving with a load of dirt in the truck compared to the edge level 2 tune. I know some of you out there dont get tuner/programmer because you think it doesnt make that big of a difference but you are way wrong. It is well worth the $335 I paid for it. being able to break the tires loose is an awesome feeling

All depends on the level of disposeable income someone has and how willing they are. I mean that tuner isnt just the $355 you pay for edge or $400 for xcal2. It's also the $32 extra spent a month on prem gas and $400 a year spend on prem gas.

Not knocking it, because I bet it's really nice. Just saying there is more to it then just the initial price. But I bet it could make a nice difference the the performance.

It would be hard to miss it if you never had it to begin with.

Thats why you go with the Hypertech Power Programmer III from AutoAnything.com, it costs $285 and you can set it for the 87 octane performance setting.

I wouldn't take the hypertech for FREE... also you can run 87 octane on both the Edge and the Xcal..and I have picked up over 2 miles per gallon with the Edge running 91 octane .

I was running 93 octane and the extra mpg = the extra cost. So, basically I was spending the same amount of money but when I wanted it, more power was there. However, Im running level 2 with 87 octane on my Edge and getting 15.7 mpg and I've only got 3800 miles on my 2006!

The mounting pod comes with it. I'm also running 87 octane, no need to run 91 really because i've got plenty of a power gain running 87 on level 2. I'm also getting like 15 MPG through 2 tanks and it will pay for itselft over time and even if it doesnt it was well worth it.

I really think you have more low end power on level 2 anyways. Level 3 has way more power at WOT throttle though.

I don't have a tuner in my '04 and I can break the tires loose at will. I must have gotten one of the good ones!
