I just picked up one off classifieds (SC 1714). Considering my truck is bone stock (i.e. 4.6, no power windows or locks, no carpet, came with steel wheels) and the only thing I have done to it was picked up some '04 FX4 stock rims and tires (300$ of CL), I figured I would at least try and flare up the engine.

It arrives the Wednesday, and since my B-Day is tomorrow... I considered it a present to myself. I hope it works out great. Just being able to read the SES codes is going to pay for itself. =)

i am debating between the edge and xcal. but i just read the specs for the xcal and the largest tire it accomodates its a 305/35/19. does the edge allow for 20'' wheels. im going to be running either a 275/50 or 285/50 size tire. another thing pushing me away from the xcal is having to have someone make you tunes for it unlike the edge being a straight forward type of thing. and i like that its dash mounted and you can choose from 19 different engine parameters to keep an eye on.

Really? I thought it could do much larger tires. So all the guys with lifts and Xcal2s still have speedos that are off?

I am running 37's corrected with my XCal2, it goes by revs per mile. However if I go much higher in tire size it won't be able to adjust much further.

You got me there but what I meant to say was, You shouldnt give reasons why not to get a tuner when you havent experienced the benifits of it. If you are concerned with warranty issues or like some that are concerned with the no start issues then I can see why you wouldnt want to tune or maybe you just dont want to drop the cash on a tuner, I dont know. I mean come on man, you cant tell me you dont want more power
