if you want it to work like factory youll have to get the upper valence by the grill. it had a core support that the hood release lever goes on that you cant get without the valence but u can rig something up

 

Bypass that horse shoe by grabbing the E-clip with an awl.. Very easy. It did take me 30 minutes of cursing to figure that out though.
