help please.

I'm trying to install my toys into my new (used) truck. Can anyone point me to where I can connect power wires under the hood and more importantly where I can locate the grommets to get wires through the firewall? Thanks all.

What kind of "toys" are you hooking up? If its an amp or something that draws a lot of power the battery is your only choice. If its something that draws less power then I would just get power at the fuse panel located on the passangers side floor board.

It is tough to get to but if you remove the battery there is a grommet on the firewall that you can put you power wire through. From the inside you have to work your hand way back under the glove box.

Theres a grommet on the drivers side firewall i think right behind the gas pedal that was not used in my truck and made a great hole for amp wires etc.

I'm wiring up a sirius reciever, C.B. radio, Radar Detector, little DVD player, and the one thing that does pull a lot of power a fair sized power inverter.

The grommet on the driver's side, just about the acelerator, where the clutch cylinder would be is your best bet! Easy to get to and big enough to run several lines through.

Thanks for all the help. I think that grommit behind the gas with some looming will be just fine. Had another question. How do I tell if my rear end has a limited slip or not? I thought all of the 4x4's did but then read that post today that said that they didn't.

Here ya go. I just found this the other day.

Look on the driver's door sticker for the axle code. Looks like this.

Codes:
19 = 3.55 open
H9 = 3.55 LSD
26 = 3.73 open
B6 = 3.73 LSD
27 = 3.31 open
18 = 3.08 open
25 = 4.10 open
B5 = 4.10 LSD

I cant seem to post the link, I'm retarded..... But if you go to the Towing and Hauling forum, and look at the Trailer weight sticky (2nd one from the top) and go to the 5th page and look at the post from APT, he has a pic of his sticker...

I seriously cant do that. If i hold my brakes down it wont go and just rev up and if i slightly let go of the brakes it will jerk forward. I suck at burn outs
