custom cut sounds kinda $$$$$. I'm not buting 33's or towing anything more than the random couch and my subbox. I do plan on getting some 20's (if I can find the 6 lug ford racing ones) the drop goes on tomorrow. swaybars next. poly bushing after that and then supercharge down the road. I just want to be able to utilize the OD. basically get the shifts close together and use the 4th as a final instad of the third like I am now so it'll shift 3 times between 0-100 instead of twice (using the powerband more)

So you wana go fast ?
OK the fastes n/a 04 and up F-150's that I know about were FatherFord and Hellbound,(before they Supercharged) guys doing mid and high 13 sec 1/4 mile.
So if i were you I would use them as my template.
what kind of tuner did they run exhaust, and so forth I am sure you get the point..
If you live in a state other the peoples republic of Kalifornia..
you can run the JLT setup which sounds Damn nice.. mwheue has the JLT.. we are running similar set ups(gears 33" Screw intake tunner exhaust) and he can smoke his 33's and I can only burp mine

Do not swap out for the 8.8, that would be a stupid move. Get the 4.88's or 4.56's and get your speed elsewhere. You don't see lightnings rolling around on 4.88's or 5.13's... You need to start building your motor. The lower the gear (higher numerical) the better chance you have at braking them, especially if you down grade to an 8.8. Crazy talk.

If I remember right fatherford never went into great detail about his setup. I just don't wanna be stuck with a tuner and intake as my only mods to the powertrain

Honestly, even 4.88s would be pushing it. I'd go with 4.56s.

Do you have any engine mods right now?

the only mod so far is the muffler removal. if you consider that a mod. I do plan on using the jlt xcal combo. at the moment I'm concentrating on my suspension mods as this truck corners like a truck. coils leafs and shocks go on tomorrow swaybars are next. I got a lotta things I need to do between the system body and drivetrain mods. I just wanted a power mod since I've already done some body and suspension mods.

Stupid question (but relative in this case), will I trucks shift into OD at WOT on the top end? I know my Dodge Ram's wouldn't (even with a Mopar Performance Computer) and several other cars I have experience with won't. I have never ran my truck out in 3rd to see if it will....has anybody else?

at like 130 right the only reason it doesn't shift to OD at wot stock is cause 3rd gear doesn't top out till way after 100
