RamSS/T, Excellent looking install. What is the make and model of the montor you used in the bin? I am interested in doing this in my last bn for my son who rides in the back. Do you know if there are any portable DVD players (self- contained) which might fit in the bin? Thanks.

Very very nice work. I'm not a big fan of mods that look thrown, clipped, or taped on and your's is certainly none of them.

Looks factory.

Excellent job.

Thats cool...I have a extra set of black headrests so I can have the screens in them ready to go for you!

Its a Emerson 5.6in screen....the model # is MT-1563. Its a TFT LCD screen. Like I said the picture is good....not a plasma screen quality but as good as the one that came factory in my wifes Expy. I don't know of any screen/dvd player combos that will fit in the factory bins...they are some higher dollar systems available that will fit the rails though. I think they are $800ish....I have $40 and about 2hrs in mine!!!

Actually what I plan to do with my dads is put a self contained DVD player in his glove box and hook it to a screen like...then FM modulate the sound through his factory radio. I should be able to do that for around $150-$175. And it will look as clean and function as well as one of the $800 systems. Now had he had the wiring for the factory DVD I would have went that route but he doesn't so this will be easier.

Funny thing about it is I don't have any kids...at least none I claim!

What's it like owning a Nav/DVD head unit. I'm seriously considering one if it improves the drive to use your truck, the Pie adapter alone encouraged me to get in the truck more often. Everything looks great, especially the headrest monitors. Someone needs to do a large dropdown hanging from their tonneau for tailgate parties.

Oh snap. Idea city...

Could get a nice 32" LCD that swings down when the tonneau opens..

..bed rug would be a must.

I am in my truck a lot for work and actually I listen to XM way more than I watch DVDs. The DVDs are awsome for cruising or just riding through the clubs or something but after you have watched a video 10-15 times it gets old....to me it does at least. Thats why I dont listen to CDs though. Don't get me wrong the DVD and screens are a 10+ on the "wow" factor and one of my best mods...but really enjoy XM. Thats probably the one thing I could not do without.

On the other hand if you have kids riding in the back a DVD player and a screen is a must! My 2 1/2 yo nephew does so much better riding in a car with a DVD in the back than one without. I am not sure if using the TV to entertain him is the "right" thing to do but it sure is nice!
