Yeah, it's nice to read a thread and not be reminded of a grade school play yard.

Tundra? Yeah, not much love for 'em. I love the commerical they have been running lately, talking to current owners of previous generation trucks. Espically the one where the guy is selling his Heritage model F-150. Hey Toyota, why not compare to the current generation?

I won't argue the build quality and refined drive line of the Toyota. Could care less about the idea of American made these days when it comes to the auto industry. Ford has gone global and these foreign car makers are providing some decent USA jobs. But I own the F150 because it is a truck. Let's just hope our Ford Company can handle it when Toyota really breaks the truck barrier and adds in some decent styling. If it does, I will take the time to test drive the Toyota. On another note: If you have not driven or been in the Titan, you should take a look. My brother bought a loaded one, and to tell you the truth, after driving it and exploring the options... I would have bought it over the Ford. Don't get me wrong, love my Ford even with the occasional and unexplainable vibrations. But Ford better get it together before its time for me to purchase again. The Titan is solid, and Toyota, eventually, always makes a better truck than Nissan, so I am keeping on eye on the foreign truck market... So, here is to hoping I will buy my next truck from Ford

I'm looking forward to test driving this new fiveseven. Supposed to be mated to a 6 speed I'd love to run one, I'm still keeping up with competitors crewcab & supercab (chevy, f-150's, etc) style models even on 37's. What kind of mileage will this be getting? I'm definitely not a fan of the interior, but I do like the dash dials...and well thats it. Unexciting to say the least.

Yes, easily. Not really apples to apples here, but my old work truck was a Cheby 3500 Dually with a 454 that I always had a 5th wheel hooked up to (this was around '93 so gas was a heck of a lot better price wise) but I was getting about 5 MPG. dual 20 gallon tanks and about 190-210 mile range. LOL, the good old days right?

Well yeah, if I could put a 454 big block in my truck, then I'd settle for whatever gas mileage it gave

Seriously though, toyota's are known for their fuel efficiency. So I fully expect the new Tundra to get significantly better gas mileage than current f150s. By "significantly", I mean at least 15% better, or more.

Yeah, I think you took a few lumps over there. Most people here know courtesy. MOST.

The Titan reminds me too much of a dust duster. Cab and bed seem out of proportion. I do like, however, the storage in the side of the bed. If I was good with a sawz-all and paint, I'd add that in.

As mentioned its the USS Arizona. I reenlisted over it while stationed in Hawaii. Its a pretty sombering experiance reading all the names on the wall of all the Service Members that went down with the ship.

I think his point was in referance to Toyota been Japenesse(sp?)manufactured, hence the bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japs.

Dont want to get any feathers ruffled but when I used to go there there were sooooooooo many Jap. tourist I used to wonder if they were like "he he we got you good round eye?" Probably not but it does get your emotions going being there. I guess we ended up evening up the score over Tokyo though. Bad jew jew all the way around.

I will stop before someone gets all "Dixie Chicks" on me.

I think the Tundra went backwards with this model. I didn't think the "current" model looked too bad, but now, YUCK.

As for the "Toyota/Nissan/Honda" cars are better quality blah blah blah that everyone is programmed to think, I personally beg to differ. My ex GF went through 1 Honda, 1 Tacoma, and 1 Corolla in the time I knew her...every single one had little crap going bad. The truck and the corolla were brand new and the paint on the inside peeled, stripping fell out, stuff was missing, it dented easily...all within weeks of buying it new. PLUS, they are cheap crap inside. My buddy has a 2002 Tacoma...absolutely babied and cherried...it's his second ride. I had a 2002 Ranger EDGE as my daily driver and my truck looked 110% better inside and out than his...that damn Toyota was literally falling apart like crazy inside...and he just had to drop $500 on the engine the other day.

My Ranger looked brand new after 3 years inside...no wear and tear at all.

This reminds me of a study that was done in the 1980s where a research group sent out 500 VCRs for people to try for some trial period, and evaluate on quality etc. They sent out 250 that said they were Japanese built, and 250 "Made in America." On a 2:1 ratio the Jap VCRS were rated higher quality than the American models when the survey was done.

The best part? Each and every last one was made in America... goes to show how ignorant people just believe the propaganda that Japanese crap is better. It's not...it's just overpriced, more costly to repair and maintain, and thinner.

This is a prime example of ignorance at its best. I mean, really!

What intelligent association can be drawn between Nissan Corporation in 2006 and a political structure of an entire country in 1941??? Oh, I see... Nissan is based out of a country in Japan. Okay. Do you have any idea how many corporations are based in Japan? You'd be shocked if you knew how much crap in the US was actually owned by a Japanese company. It's not like the Japanese military went around a polled all the companies to see if they were okay with bombing Pearl Harbor... They made a decision without the support of the general public. The educational structure of Japan in 1941 was inaqeduate at best.

You cannot judge an entire country based on the actions of its military. It's the same kind of thinking when I hear some ignorant bastard say,"we should just nuke the middle east." 99.9% of the people that live there are doing exactly what YOU are trying to do. They are trying to raise families and enjoy their lives...

Think, just think, about how OTHER countries would view you if they based their decisions soley on the actions of our military.
