Click, Click, Click, Click
Click, Click, Click, Click
Hey guys. I am getting a rotational clicking from my drivers side front wheel. It is intermittent and there is no rhyme or reason to it and sometimes it is louder than others. I thought maybe something was stuck in the tire treads, but there is nothing in the treads causing this.
Last night when it started clicking, I put it in 4 Wheel High to see if it changed at all, but it didn't. I did notice that I couldn't hear the hubs engaging, but I could tell they were engaged when I made a couple of sharp turns. Any ideas? I've read on here that it might be a vacuum control solenoid, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help

If there is no rhyme or reason to the noise and it is intermittent, how do you know it is rotational? A rotational noise would suggest a noise the increases or decreases with speed or the noise occurs at a specific frequency. Are you sure it is not your air conditioning cycling on and off? That sounds like an intermittent click that happens quite often.

Well I finally figured out what the noise is. It is the factory "chrome clad wheels." Ever since I put on my BFG A/T KO with the rim guard this had been happening. It started out as only one wheel, but it is slowly happening to all 4of them. It drives me insane! Anyone no any good websites for good cheap chrome wheels?
I had the same problem. I just replaced with the FX4 18s. As for a good place online for new ones, check out www.4wheelparts.com, or pro comp website. It just depends on your taste.
