Exhaust louder with EDGE????
I have heard a couple of people saying that they think it does. But I can't think of any reason that it would, my truck has custom exhaust isn't any louder with the Edge Evo than without it. It is possible to change the "tone" of the exhaust a little since with the Edge you are changing the timing of the ignition. But thats about all that I can think of. Maybe someone else will have a better answer for you.

I got a 4.6 and stock exhaust and it sounds different on a cold startup until the idle drops. Could be it starts at a slightly higher idle speed. You wouldn't mistake it for an aftermarket exhaust, but it does have a very slight rumble. Once it's warm it sounds about the same.
I hardly noticed any change in exhaust at all.
However, I've been playing with getting better MPG this week and I squeezed another 2 mpg!
...course, I've been driving like a grandmother on her way to the local drugstore...

I noticed more exhaust sound with my airaid cold air. I didn't notice anything with the edge.

it will make it louder when you are on the gas, the decibles will be greater since you will be running a higher rpm shift point, also it may be louder from adjusting the idle up, or like said about the timing
yes intakes make you truck louder

I previously posted that I experienced a drone when using the EDGE on anything other than Level 1. I have a very quiet exhaust (Gibson si/so), but with the EDGE on Level 2 or 3, I get this drone when in o/d under load. I specifically got the Gibson because of the quiet nature of it, so to get drone with the Edge is unacceptable to me. So I use the EDGE on Level 1 only.
I would think the louder is associated with the advance in timing. My old hot rods would have a different tone after advancing the timing 10 degrees and running high octane. Part of the tuning is about advancing the timing in all the right places to increase torque and horsepower without the dreaded death rattle. My truck sounds meatier, but no drone with the EDGE and a Flowmaster 50 SI/DO.
