After a few bumps in the road, dealership finally comes through on cluster programming
About a month ago, I took my 05 XL to one of the local dealerships to have a swapped XLT cluster programmed. I was real excited taking it in because the truck only had 13,000 miles on it and the used cluster I bought had 21,000 miles showing` when I bought it. I had to wait 8,000 miles to do the swap. I ended up doing it in the parking lot at work trying to get the mileage as close as possible. Once installed, there was a difference of only .2 of a mile.
Finally, I get to go to the dealer for the last step of this mod. They tell me the programming is complete. When I leave, I discover the warning buzzers, interior lights and LED display are not working properly. The service rep said the programmed in the axle ratio and tire size that was the best he could do.
I contacted Quintin, who went out of his way to get me the "Built As' data specifically for my truck. After he shared this info, I called the service advisor again. He said he would look into it and call me back. I was not surprised when I never heard from him.
Two weeks later, I was primed up to go into a$$hole mode and I called the service manager. I was almost dissappointed when he didn't feed me any crap. As a matter of fact, he seemed as though he really wanted to help with this. He contacted Ford and today, he got my programming done. Everything works as it should. He renewed my faith in the dealership's sense of customer service.
I again would like to thank Quinton for his help resolving this. He is a prime example of why this is such an awesome forum.
