I'll give it a shot. Which part number should I order? I know that our brake lights are model "3157," but which size should I order? 4.14", 3.35", or 2.74"?

Does it depend on how much room is inside the light housing?

I'll post pictures once they arrive (assume I figure out what size and place the order)

Wasn't there something weird with these flashing too fast? Maybe had to install something else to keep them from going to 'rapid flash mode'?

Yes if you just install LED turn signals or in our case the tailight/turn signal you need to add a resistor or because of the low current draw the truck will think it is burned out and cause it to flash rapidly

I thought there was something... didn't they have something available that would solve this though -- like an off the shelf product from Spider rather than having to roll to Radio Shack for parts and pieces?

Are they PLUG & PLAY ? Do you have to add a resistor ? Would they look good on a med wedgewood blue truck ? Thanks

I dont have them but im pretty sure there a plug and play. Do a search for depo in the 2004 up section and you'll find a couple posts of people who installed them. Oh and idk how light or dark that blue is but these lights look really good on black trucks IMO. I also never herd bout some one needing a resistor, but i coudl be wrong. Once again do a search and you'll find the info

Well I did get a hold of LED Tail Lights that did not have the bump, looks very OEM and look very nice. The problems I ran into testing them was that I own a 2005 F-150 and there seems to be an issue with a brace that the tail lamps do NOT clear when installed. The resolution to this is to have to cut this brace behind the tail lights to get them to fit. I dont have a problem doing this, but I assume a lot of others will and it would affect sales of this item.

The nice thing about them is that they include the resistor pack with heat sink to allow proper flash rate of the lamps.

The con is that the LEDs used in the tails are mainly there for the brake cycle and not the parking cycle. Only the bottom 1/4th of the lamp is used during parking lamp cycle, and the top 3/4 lights up only when braking.

I am going to customize them so they all turn on during parking and light up brighter when brankes or turn signals are applied, BUT this is an option I could NOT provide when selling them because of the custom nature of a circuit board and wiring.

Another con is that the price point for these units is high. Just as high as some of the other units and people do not seem to want to spend a few hundred dollars for items like this.

Could you get some pics of them on the truck and what you had to do to get them to fit? I hade the depo ones before and I sold them because I thought the LED's looked cheesy.
