Personally, I don't know how the ride would be compared to using a regular Bilstein and a spacer. Because for example, when you crank your coilovers your ride quality decreases. It seems like it'd be the same thing.

Hopefully someone with them can chime in. .

I would think that the strut length would be longer, and retain the loaded coil length......... Call Bilstein and ask, they have a great customer service department 1-858-386-5900

Called OFF ROAR Warehouse..suggested by Bilstein Cust service. They said the strut would give me 2 inches lift with no other equipment needed. They also suggested to replace factory rears. 450 with free ship. Any idea how much a shop would charge me to replace. Alignment needed????
Thanks for help

With any lift/leveling kit, you are going to need an alignment.

the lift shocks just lift the attachment point of the coils. doesnt really compress springs any more than they were with the stock shocks. just the attachment point is 2" higher on the shock itself. still rides great! maybe a little stiffer than the factory shocks, but that is because of the bilstein shock. yes, you will need alignment. I was charged 100.00 to put fronts on,PLUS 49.95 for alignment. 150.00 total

It has to preload the spring more if not then the spring would sit loose on the lowest setting. You need to compress the spring to take the topcap off because the spring puts pressure against the topcap off which is connected to topped out shock shaft. If the shock piston shaft was long enough there would be no need to compress the spring to take it off but the shock shaft is a set length so at full extension it keeps a certain amount of tension on the spring. I dont see a way that the rancho kit doent preload the spring more because if it had the extra shaft length at stock setting there would be no tension on the spring and no need to compress the spring to install it. maybe I am wrong but thats how I see it, I am not the smartest but I though about getting them and I decided against it because I figured it perloaded the spring more

Exactly, they are just like the front shocks that come with the rancho and fabtech lifts for our trucks...

I say go for it...
