Well I dont believe a word Motor Trend says. We have 2 2007MY Focuses on our lot and there are NO changes, although Motor Trend says it will be a re-design. Also, I have heard NOTHING about the new diesel engine in the F-series which according to my sources will not debut until 2008-2009MY. **** Motor Trend.
Also it was announced today that the new super dutys will be a late arrival. They have been delayed until January and will be called 2008's.

The delay with the 6.4 is because of the extra testing they are doing to them. Ford has several 6.4 in the current superduty driving across the country, trying to push the motor as hard as they can. Ford does not want to have the same problems as they do with the 6.0. The 6.4 will go on sale in 08. I've heard the development of the 4.5 liter for the f150 has stalled, due to the development of the 6.4. The new 6.4 should be much more reliable then the current 6.0. Also, Ford is planning on putting a 5 speed automatic transmission in the f150 somewhere in the near future.

It's going to take some political and legal wrangling to get another player under the hood anytime soon more than likely, contracts and non-compete clauses being what they are. I figure there are a few manufacturers that would like to get a crack at placing an engine in the F series. Last I heard, Ford was none too happy with the mess they have on their hands with the 6.0. Cummins is wrapped up by DCX and Cat has publicly stated they have no intentions of getting into the light duty on-road applications, but I suppose they could go with a foreign manufacturer.

A 'source' told me the 6.4 is the last 'powerstroke' ford will be useing and that international has a new line of motors comming out for ford around 2010. Everything from a 6 for LD and a new 8 for HD trucks and suvs.
