Mag Hytec diff cover... pics

Just installed it yesterday. Cool peice with the magnetic dip stick and 5.1qt capacity as opposed to 2.7qt - Powder coated black with the machined fins- high quality peice. Filled her up with 75W140 Royal Purple, and at 10 bucks a quart it wasnt cheap, but I figured it should last me a good 80k so I might as well get the good stuff.

Royal Purple comes with a friction modifier already in it. Another reason I used to justify the cost.

Thanks for the compliments... I got mine thru maghytec.com for $250

EDIT- Now I want the trans pan to match!

I have a question, do they make a front diff cover?

The guys that put my gears in used royal purple after break in and I knew that it already had the modifier in it, but they added two little bottles of it anyways. Not only that, they filled it through the abs sensor at the top of the diff cover, and when fluid came out the plug hole they plugged it and put in a couple more pumps of oil since it was in a 5 gallon royal purple containter I hope its ok, so far so good…….I plan to change it in 30K, when I do, I will do it myself with a mag tech cover...did you use a gasket or silicon??? They used high temp RTV silicon to seal my covers….I was worried about it not being fully cured when I drove off after they did the switch from break in oil to synthetic….O well, everything seems fine and its been about 1500 miles.....

Not good... Overfilling can cause it to "froth-up" (I know there's a better word that I can't think of)... Not good.

I have always liked the look and quality of those covers. Not cheap but they are sharp and good quality. Enjoy
