New thought

Since the rancho idea wont work I was thinking of doing a 2 in AS and then the rancho lift shocks on +1 inch to achieve 3inch total which shouldnt be to bad on everything, king and a few other brands make 3 inch lifts. I also though that the reason the springs hit now is because they are pushed down but if I get a smaller AS and go up on the spring it should help my clunking problem, correct me if I am wrong. Does anyone see a down side to this or any oppinions welcome. Also how does the rancho lift shock work does it preload the spring the more you set it up or does the spring stay neutral and the piston just comes out more? Which would be better littler AS and more rancho lift or more AS and just +1 on the shock? sorry for all the question but I just want like a 3 inch lift for parking reasons but dont want to drop 900 on new coilovers when I am going to do a full lift later and then the coilovers wont work.

well, thats a better idea there- but, (i may be wrong here) i think the rancho adjustables are only adjustable 1-2+ inches, which is the equivalent of a leveling kit- they are designed to remove the front rake rather than provide additional lift... maybe a longer, offroad shock (meant primarily for true, lifted trucks) would fit? i'd look into either bilstein or rancho

My vote would be the Rancho 2.5" kit or just a 2.5" autospring and some 33s maybe on some new wheels. I'm just worried about your CV angles with AS and Rancho. The 9000s are really nice shocks too. And if you plan on replacing it in a year or so either of those would be a good option. I sold my old 2.5" AS when I got my lift for almost what I paid for it. Hope that helps.

I allready have an 2.5 AS and brand new 33's thats one of the reasons I cant see getting a full lift right now along with parking restraints. with the 2.5 AS my front is still about a half inch lower then the rear, I want to put the rancho lift shocks at plus one inch and then add an 2inch AS to gain a total of 3 inch which is what the king kit and a few others offer so it cant be that bad if king does a 3 inch lift right? Also somewhere on here i though i read that someone called ford and ford said that you couldnt put the cv angles bad enough to hurt them, everything else would run out of droop befor the CV joint were hurt can some one confirm this?
