Future F150's...
Future F150's...
Does anyone have any ideas?
Here is the deal. I am heading to Japan for 4 years...I got military orders.
I am being forced to sell my truck which now is lowered, supercharged, tires, gauges, ...etc. I cannot ship a vehicle overseas to Japan. Emissions laws and so on.
My dilemma is that I LOVE this truck...I special ordered it in 2004 just the way I like it. I will be coming back in 2010 timeframe. I am wanting to know if the body style is set to be the same...even the engine.
Reason being, all the mods for this truck are out. Headers, blowers, body kits, exhaust, tuners...etc. When I get back I will be building up another truck but even better. I dont want to wait 3 years for mods to come out again.
Even if I get back in 2010 I will still be able to pick up a few 2009 models and even order one if need be to get rid of residual stock if the body style is the same. Get the idea?
So, if anyone is in the know, please post it here. Thanks.

Supposedly there will be some body changes as likely a new Hurricane V8 in 2008. If not 2008, for sure by 2009. I would say it would be very safe that you can come back to a new truck and plenty of aftermarket goodies by 2010.
BTW, are you going to part out your truck, or sell it as-is?
Let us know! lol

FYI, there have always been military in Japan. Its just another duty assignment for the American military. Thanks to a victory in the World Wars we have just stayed there as sort of a strategic site. Mainly the Navy goes there but all the branches have a duty station there.
A lot will depend on the 07+ Gm truck line up, the Ram is due for more than just cosmetic change's, If Ford keeps the pressent body style some inovate engines wiil have to find thier way betwean the motor mounts.
I will be selling it as is. I have no current pics of it after supercharged, but here is a rundown and I will post pics this afternoon.
2004 Reg Cab Short Bed 2WD
3.73 posi
Plasma Ignition Booster
Magnaflow dual exhaust (side exit) X-pipe
295/45/18 Toyo Proxes
Lariat 18" wheels
Electric fans
Plastic bedliner
Lowered 2/front/4/back
Boost gauge/Tranny temp gauge
Dual gauge pod on driver "oh poop" handle
Aftermarket tach
Air/tilt/cruise/rear sliding window
G-tech SS hard mounted on dash
Tinted Windows
Powerdyne 6 psi blower
Diablo tuner
Only 23,200 miles...Asking 17,500.00 Runs high 13's in 1/4 and high 8's in the 1/8th. Put on a 9 psi pulley (80.00) and an ebay intercooler (600.00) and a custom tune (500.00) you will be running low 13's without a doubt. Just an FYI, I have raced an 04 Lightning several times and beat him 3 out of 5 and the two I lost was traction issues. Not a FAST truck by any means but for sure it will compete with most on the road.
I just got orders to Japan. I am going to Kadena AB in Japan. It's just another assignment. I DO have storage orders, but I have heard countless HORROR stories about those contracts. Vehicles not starting, havent been looked at in years and the staff just "pencil'whipped" the inspections on them.
Forget that. I will sell and buy new when I get back. Either way, I CANNOT ship a vehicle over there...PERIOD. Japanese government laws and such.

Not really. And if it is because you think there's too many Japanese cars here, you'd do well to realize that most of them are built right here.
There are cars in Japan (notably some small sports cars from Honda/Toyota/Nissan) that if brought over in their Japanese form wouldn't pass our emission or safety standards. So, our cars may not pass theirs, so they're not allowed. Simple concept really.
