Couple questions for the board
Couple questions for the board
First off, i bought a set of 18" lariat chrome/beige inlet rims and tires from my roomate. I want to get the whitewall turned in and then the requisite balance. I could mount them myself if it werent for wanting to flip the tires around. However, the two quotes i got were 100 dollars and 80 dollars just for the above. Is this a reasonable amount? The only other time i have had this done was when i bought my 22's on my last truck and they did all that for free(well they said free, prob thrown on top of my price). I might just be riding with the whitewall out.
On to question two, the doorpad code did not come with the truck, as it was a salvage. I need to get the code and the ford shop said they would need to hook it up to the diagnositics and would charge me 35 dollars. I am sure i could press to get the people who fixed my truck to pay that charge, but is that the only way. The old models had it printed on the inside of the dash by the gas and brake pedals. Any help would be appreciated.
Im in the process of trying to buy back the salvage so i can get my items off of my truck, 1500 dollars is a small price to pay for 3000 in mods. It just sucks having to pay for them twice.

i was afraid it was gonna be behind the seat, but then again i dont have to mess with it. I'll be taking it up to the shop so they can do it for free(hopefully no damages will incur).
If they're the 18" BFGs, be advised that these are asymetrical tires and it's recommended that they be mounted a certain direction out. If you look on the white letter side of the tire, it should be marked "THIS SIDE OUT." Whether or not it'll affect the tire's wear or traction, I dunno.
