I was pulling up a stump in my back yard and the engine light came on and has been on ever since. I have an 04 scab 4.6 4x4. The truck was in 4L and I didn't have it in a bind or anything. Truck still drives normal but I have no clue why the light came on?

 

may have just been a misfire and you need to reset.


Best hook it up to a scanner either way.

Before you try to reset it, check it. Auto Zone will scan 'em for free most of the time if yu don't have a scan tool. As for the clearing of the code, sometimes if you disconect your battery and drain all thee remaining power you can get it to clear if it was just a 1 time ting and isn't an actual problem. Most of the time you would need to clear it using a scan tool (most tuners have this option as well).
