Well I believe the front end, rear end, transmission all have breathers where it would let water inside.

I don't think you have any worrys with the water depth you are in. I have had mine in water up to the bottom of the doors with no contamination.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a recommendation in the owner's manual to change the fluids when you submerge the front and rear diffs.

That being said, I think that's probably a bit overkill and have had previous trucks up to the bumpers in water without ever having a fluid problem.

You should be fine if you were just splashing around. You have breather tubes that extend up into the engine bay, I can't recall if the rear had one.
