LMAO! Keeps the shouting to a minimum if you can't hear 'em.

Seriously, those Mini's are really well engineered and neat little cars. Like Thumper said though, different tools for different jobs. Also, since this is in the 2004-2006 forum, as people have mentioned above, these trucks have been seriously retooled since Dec. 2002 (article date). Check out the crash test ratings on the new trucks and you will be very pleased with what you find. God willing, no one here has to test them ourselves, but the safety is there.

Cool

I noticed something on the section of the article where it showed the number of deaths that was under the pictures. The F-150 had 110 for example, as the Honda civic only had 84. the F-150 sells what, 500-600-700,000 more vehicles a year? Do the math and the F-150 has a smaller ratio than the civic, and most of not all of the other vehicles in the chart. It's funny how places like that like to dance to make an invalid point. Then the animal rights activists and the tree huggers get involved. Interesting. I digress.

I would imagine if they done the test with the f-150 hitting the mini then the mini would be even more mini...

My wife has a 2002 Cooper S and they are a VERY well built car. The one thing you have to make sure you read in that article is that the outcome would surely be different if the two vehicles hit each other instead of the wall. The Coopers do come with 6 airbags and despite their size are a very safe car, I wouldn't put my wife in anything that wasn't!

Thanks for the link! My wife and I are buying a new MINI Cooper S in the next couple of months (1-3 month waiting list!). It's good to know they are pretty safe for their size. We're buying it to autocross. We'll us our 2005 FX4 to tow it to events.

F150's are safe also, my wife and I were involved in a very bad wreck a year ago on 5-21-05. We were traveling in the right lane when a suburban decide he wanted in my lane due to cars turning. He hit us so hard it broke the lower control arm which caused the truck to turn left and we collided with a steel light pole at 55 mph. The impact was just outside the frame rail and it continued until the A-piller was about a foot back, pinned me in the driver side with a crushed foot, my wife broke her sturnum from the air bag impact, other than that we survived the accident due to the strength in the F150. It was the wifes truck with less than 2000 and didnt even make the first payment, but after the accident that happened on a saturday we were at the dealership buying another F150 due to the fact we were walking around after this accident. Litigation is over and so I am now free to discuss the accident and post pictures.
