Another Josiah Story

I scheduled to have my daystar level, bilstein shocks, and my rims and tires mounted and installed this morning at 8:00 A.M. So I'm stranded without a vehicle for half a day, at lunch I had my mom pick me up from school to go check on progess. The truck was still sitting outside untouched. Sometime in the afternoon I got the call saying that the control arm was at an extreme angle from the daystar, but I knew that was going to happen. They couldn't get the truck alligned properly becuase of it though. Drove the truck home, and I was in love until I made it home. I was inspecting my new Maxx 6's and noticed that the lugs looked funny. 4 Wheel Parts sent me two rims with 4.5 BS and two rims with 5.5 BS. Called them up and after a little waiting new rims will be shipped out Monday, and there paying for all the expenses. Gotta love that. I made it one step further than Josiah with the rims; mine actually fit, but are the wrong BS. Just a lesson to all to test fit ALL 4 RIMS, I only fitted one. Hopefully everything works out right when I get the correct rims. Hope this makes sense, it's been a long day on the phone, and a long day at the dealership.

That sucks...at least theyre taking care of you though. Why didnt the folks installing the wheels notice that? Wouldnt it have been offset weird with two different backspacings?

What backspacing and size wheels did you get? Post the pics up when its ready!!!

Hope they do cover all expenses, they're really paying for their mistake, shipping ain't cheap. Who did they ship them with (UPS, Roadway Express, etc? I hope everything goes well, the backspacing issue is a new one on me.

The BS might be the reason they couldn't allign it. i have a daystar on my truck and i've had no problems. Those people just might be incompetent. I even have my daystar wiht my fabtech installation and no problems.

I talked to them again on the phone and the 2 new wheels are getting shipped out Monday morning. I'm supoose to pay for all the dismounting and remounting on my credit card and send them the bill for the work.

The kid that torqued all the wheels at the dealership should of noticed it but he didn't. When I discovered the problem and called back the dealership they said that the allignment would not be affected, but I'm still going to get some more opinions on that.

I drove on the wheels last night, and it stil drives pretty good. The BS is so close between the two, the untrained eye couldn't see the differnce. The only way I knew was by how far the lugs were sticking out past the wheel. But when you pay $2000.00 for wheels and tires, you want them to be perfect.

I don't know who will be shipping my new wheels out, but D & L Carriers brought them the first time. As soon as I get this problem fixed and get some other stuff put on my truck, I'll post some before and after pics.

Thanks for the support,

So, what backspacing are you going to get? Good thing they're working with you and not giving you the stiff arm. I hope all turns out well!

I'm going with the 5.5 BS like I orginally ordered. I've only drove the truck through town once so far, and the looks I got were priceless. I am very satisifed and can't wait until they send me the right wheels.

I went with the 325 60 18 Nitto's and I love them. They are really wide and give my truck a killer stance. A friend and I have been outside for the last 5 hours installing my bullbar, harley tails, front grilles, and some other little things, plus some work on his Cummins. All I have left to install is the intake, edge, and my LT handles. My truck has come along way in two days, and I think you all will agree. Pics will be coming when I get some time to wash, wax, etc...since tomorrow is Mother's Day, I'll be taking a break from the truck.

***Thumper, the setup is almost exactly like your old truck, and I can't tell you how many times I've looked through your gallery. The pictures of them wheels and tires on your truck sold me. Thanks.***

UPDATE:

The wheels are getting shipped out tomorrow morning. Probably won't be in until next week. But at least they are coming. I'm going to wash it sometime this week, and I'll try to snap a few pics then. I also finished the Mark LT install, so I'm all done modding for now. Still have the clay bar, and meg 3 step, but I'm going to wait until the wheel problem is fixed.
